Back in the day I used to let Triantula's crawl up my arms and hands. BUT there is no way in H-E double hockey sticks that I'd let one of those crawl on me/nor near me. Acropilot that story made me chuckle. I probably would of done the same thing. A relative of my uncle's family (not related by blood) said that while he was stationed in Kuwaitt (after the first gulf war) that they had a week of scorpion fights. Whichever one won moved onto the next fight. Well one of them lasted the whole week. It's prize for taking first place was the bottom of a boot. He was saying though that they were rather large and rather freaky.

I'm thinkin' that if one of those was on my tail (whether it's really that big or not) moving 10 mph, I would find out that MY top speed suddenly shot up to 25 (hopefully the backpressure from me screaming like a little girl wouldn't slow me down much)! Harmless or not, that's just SCARY!

Normally, spiders and other larger insects don't phase me one bit; however, that would be as good as dead if it was in my house.

look at the abdoman of the bottim spider. it looks like little plastic things that hold that tags on clothes are coming out of it. maybe its just part of the spider but they look like the little plastic things.

When I was in Oman two years ago, we had a "pet" camel spyder we kept in a cage at work. I think his name was Ralph. We also had a mouse problem, which is common in the desert. We tried putting dead mice from mouse traps in with the spyder, but it wouldn't touch them. Well, one guy devised a mouse trap that keeps the mouse alive, and then we had a bit of a gladiator match. The mouse was dropped in, and within a second or so, the camel spider scurried over very quickly, tore off the mouse's head, and began eating it.

We were going to have Ralph vs. some black scorpion, but one of the girls in my squadron decided to "set them free." I told her i hope it bites her butt when she's sleeping.

I hate those things. We had an infestation of them at pacesetter. All sorts of nasty rumors flying around about them. People were claiming that they would chase you down and attack you. I just squished em.
