Cheapish Car That is Fun to Drive and Fast?

Soon I'll be getting my liscence and a car. But, I don't know what car I should get...
I need it to be a new car, due to paranoia on the part of my parents, and I need it to meet a few other standards as well:
It should be an all-around fun car to drive, but at the same time it should have the ability to go fast. Also, it should have nice, sharp, responsive handling.

I don't think I'll be doing any work on it other than easy mods and bolt-ons, if that effects your decision.

So, what cars meet these standards? (Fun, Cheap, Easy to Drive, Sharp Handling, and Fast).

How cheap is cheap? I say get an old maxima. I have a 98 maxima SE and i love it.

the WRX was voted best by car and driver( i think it was them) though I have not driven one myself, i have sat in them But you can get used grand am/pre for a good price these days.

the new wrx's start at like 23,000$....but i think its well worth it....check out like a subaru legacy...it looks just like a wrx(no round headlights) and no turbo charge...but still fast and nice handling...my friends rents just got one and its a nice car...or may-b an old mustang 5.0?....hyundai tiburons are nice too...the mazda 6 looks very nice...or acura's...rsx or integra...

Used Z28's start around 800 bucks although you won't get much for that. Go up to about 4 grand you can get a decent thirdgen iroc or z28, 6-7 grand you can get a 4th gen ls1.

Cheap would be around 25,000 MAX...
Also, it can ONLY be a new car, NOTHING USED unfortunatly.

Yea, I do like the sentra...
But I suppose I should have mentioned this before:

It does NOT need to be a 4-door OR a 4-seater, but a 4-seater would be nice.

1) I'm an optomist
2) I only call that "cheapish" so people don't take one look at "fun...fast" and say "Ferrari, Porsche (Por-SHA), or Viper.

But yea, the Mazdaspeed Miata does look fun (as well as the Toyota MR2 Spyder), but I think both of those cars look a little too feminine for me.

Cheap at the highschool I go to is 30,000 A nice car is a toyota celica, nice small car, my brother has one, its really nice for the price. I think he paid 21,000.
