Very very nice laptop for the money. Extremly fast, too. Great battery life.

that thing does have alot to offer for the price only a few problems. After my last two asus boards I will never buy asus again. If they can't do onboard sound then I won't touch a laptop by them FOR SURE.
And the price is WAY out there. I'm thinking like 1200-1400$.The 9100's that dell sells from their factory outlet look like the only ones that are going to be affordable and have the components I need. Their biggest disadvantage.... they are 2" thick.

I think I've pretty much decited to stay away from centrino stuff. For the markup I can buy a second battery and outlast a centrino by ~1-2 hours and STILL get the processing power for graphic intensive presentations. Beside I doubt I'll ever take it anywhere a 110V jack won't be around

hey, uhm, bluestrike......

an Athlon -FX with a quality setup can do that, and be cheaper.......

the reason why Macs have a reputation for photoshop speed is because they have always had a larger cache size then intel's and AMD's.......
but The FX has twice the cahce size as the barton, and 4 times the cache size as the AXP.

An equal priced A64 system will be faster then a Mac in everything.
I am not saying PC's are better......its preference. Some people like chevvy's, some like fords. U pay a premium for macs because they dont have as wide of a market. if they weren't so expensive.......

Expose makes it actually feasible to do work in such a manner. Sure, Windows has the Taskbar(equivalent on Mac: Dock)Yet, how can you honestly maneuver through 30-40 different open(sometimes MORE)windows.

On graphics Tablet: Button 16 - Show all windows
Mouse(multi-button) lower thumb
Any corner - different Expose functions

Lower-left = show all
Upper - left = Show active
Lower-right = hide all
upper-right = screensaver
F11, F12, F13 = Show all, Show Active, Hide All

Expose has made the world of difference. It is, simply put, amazing. That alone is worth the small price difference(talking in the form of a high-end workstation). Also, Security. Anyone with any knowledge can tell you that *NIX systems(OSX is based off Unix) are more secure than Windows machines. Although I do own two old Windows machines currently running XP Pro.

your comparing operating systems. That's a whole different discussion. Programs don't show how capable a processor is either. Not to mension I can't see a person working with more then 5 or so windows anyway... it gets too confusing for the human ...

actually to be politicaly correct this was a thread about PC's the mac's came on the scene with the 40th post this week, to the effect of " macs are better " which is more representation then macs needed in a PC thread....I have enough problems with running linux and windows on the same network... I refuse to add another OS until it can do something my other ones can't

that sounded mean... but I'm too tired to smooth it out. ya'll get the point no offence intended
