    R.A. Slavatore
    Clive Cussler
    Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child
    Robert Ludlum
    Alexander Dumas

And a couple other authors that I can't remember their names. I really like adventure books with superstitions and unbelievable things thrown in (preston and child). I also like most of the classics, gatsby, catcher in the rye, of mice and men, mysterious stranger. Just recently a friend got me into fantasy books and I'm pretty much hooked.

    War is peace

    Freedom is slavery

    Ignorance is strength

I liked most of Salvatore's older stuff, but lately it seems like he's just trying to churn them out as quickly as he can. The only fantasy authors I've really read lately are Stephen Donaldson and George R.R. Martin. If I would have remembered, I would have included Martin in my original list. He really deserves to be there! Simply incredible.

Frank Herbert rocked with Dune up til Chapter House and even then it was alittle weird.

              GO DUNCAN IDAHO!!!!

A comment was made about churning them out earlier......I can identify with that. A few authors have taken this on as a volume business

                re: orson scott card

card has had one or two good books

mainly Ender's Game, and Ender's Shadow. Every single sequel to those books sucked.

                  Machale
                  Dr Seuss.

Tolkein had an amazing writing style that I just loved, MacHale writes a great series I love, and Dr Seuss is just awesome. His books are funner than hell to read.

I just finished William Gibson's Count Zero the other night. I'd read it before but back in High School. Now I "get it."

I also like the Bolos series by Keith Laumer, and short stories by Clive Barker and Donald Barthhelme.

Did you read Neuromancer as well? IIRC the series goes: Neuromancer, Count Zero, Mona Lisa Overdrive.

Oh yes I've read Neuromancer, MLOD and Idoru . I've read Neuro about every other year since HS and I graduated in '92

                          Edited for stupid spelling errors.

Is Idoru part of that series? Hrm I need to go re-read. I don't think the books actually started making sense to me till All Tomorrow's Parties. Guess I should read these more than once.
