"It's not the paranoia you need to learn. Truthspeak and politspeak are all around us.

Who is the enemy, why are you at war? WMD, topple Saddam, Bin Laden?

The answers change yet no one seems to care."

Only the people who are stupid enough to think this war is about WMDs believe that tripe. This war happened for one reason. It is the same reason we are not at war with Saudi Arbabia, North Korea, or Iran. Sadam lost a war to us. He violated the terms of his cease-fire. He violated the terms of his surrender. We can not protect our over-seas interests if we allow a tin-pot dictator to violate the terms of the deal he made, whether or not the spine-less intellectuals in Europe agree or not.

That is the truth. That has always been the truth. But the liberals would like to cloud the issue by trying to claim they were lied to by the President. I'm sorry, you were not lied to. The majority of American is smart enough to understand this. Unfortunately, you are not.

I am so sick of people saying that the this war is the Republicans fault or namley President Bush. All politicians looked at the info given to them by the CIA. They voted and here we are. Why must everyone let the CIA off the hook and blame President Bush for everything.

Not according to the polls. Not that long ago, a poll showed a majority of idiots still thought that Iraq had something to do with 9/11. The administration still sells the Iraq war as part of the war on terrorism despite no link.

And what terms did Saddam violate? The one's that the UN before the war couldn't confirm and that no proof has confirmed since?

And chris, the president and hawk republicans can't blame the CIA. If they could, the talk/propaganda wouldn't have switched from WMD deliverable in 45 minutes, to war on terror (9/11 link), to bringing democracy to Iraq and overthrowing a dictator, back to war on terror (now it's true, but it's the invasion of Iraq that created/allowed the terrorists).

But, whatever. Soon enough Iraq will be under the control of a radical Muslim faction and the US will have forgotten all about any promises of democracy and freedom. Certainly nobody seems to care about the travesty of democracy that took over in Kuwait after that war. What will all the lost American lives mean then?

I'm glad that Canada wasn't as stupid as Britain and we didn't follow the US without solid proof.

Wow, even Jean Cretien outsmarted Bush and Blair.

My country does fine when the "heat is on". Problem is that until the invasion, there was no heat. At least none that wasn't safely contained in Iraq and under the ionvestigation of the UN weapons inspectors.

Bosnia, Afganistan, and all the other places Canadian soldiers have served they have proven themselves and shown that we have nothing to be ashamed of.

Humor me a minute please and answer this question.

You have a pedophile who gets caught and arrested and goes to jail, he gets paroled and one of the terms of parole is that he has no contact with children or go near any schools. A few months go by and then someone notices suspicious car sitting by a schools playground and calls the cops. The cops then find said scumbag. What should happen
I think there for, I am I think. am I?

obviously an international commitee should be formed and the un should start searching his fridge and alarm clock for kiddy porn. but run away the first time he says no. then inconclusively conclude he has no said material and should me allowed to go free.

My grandfather fought in WWII and he told me that if they had all the media with them like the military has today over half of the soldiers from WWII would be in jail.

I'm so glad this thread is about WMD's and flip-flopping, it's such a great topic. Oh wait, this thread has nothing to do with WMD's and the like, my mistake.

This is what happens when you have pussy politicians (either dem or repub, don't matter they're all corrupt) who tip-toe around everything. Especially war. Since when was war supposed to have rules and guidelines and boundaries? I thought that was the essence of war... that there wasn't any 'rules'!

Oh well. I support those soldiers. And if that guy wasn't "faking" it or if he was I don't care. Shoot him, twice for good measure. And the one next to him, too!

That adversary laying wounded could have just as easily been reaching for the trip wire....

I would never second guess a guy with his life on the line. I don't think anyone has a right to do that.

The military will investigate and take care of it. But sometimes things just happen and a decision has to be made. It's that Soldiers duty to make it fast and right or wrong he has to make it. So its not something I am going to armchair quarterback him on. Seems close enough to justifiable reaction to me without premeditated malice. That has to be good enough in Battle. You cannot always wait to be certain.

I think a petition to Congress, however, is unnessicary and pointless. What do they have to do with this particular incident that would warrant it? If you want to support the guy then let it be known to the Military or something. Congress has no direct bearing on this investigation at all. Not at this point that is.... Not that I know of anyway.

On top of this, the enemy was faking being dead/injured, and was out of uniform, so it is no way a war crime. He's not covered by the geneva convention. And on top of that, I don't think we actually SIGNED the geneva convention, just agreed to it... Am I wrong?
