All I met were rude, arrogant and (in my humble opinion) ignorant turds. Everytime I informed someone in the course of a conversation that I was American it was more like I had announced that I had an incurable and highly contagious disease.

When I meet a foreigner here, in NY, I try to be polite. I don't ask stupid questions, but these uneducated, given-to-hyperbole, euro-liberals seemed to simply believe everything their press told them.

Here are some of their comments:
All Americans love guns. (I do but I am certainly not all Americans.)
All Americans think America is the center of the universe. (Well, it is. How many people risk life and limb to get to Europe as a final destination?)
All Americans think they are morally superior. (Well, living in a society that actually embraces and supports creativity and personal freedom is a good thing, right)

Now, let me say that I know that not all Europeans are like this. It was just my sad and unfortunate experience to meet every single stinking one on my trip.

So, in closing, bring me the wide open plains, the cities and the suburbs cause I'm back home and I ain't never leaving again!

"which america can't be since you had the man who came second take office"

Its unfortunate we still allow morons to cross our borders, and as such, you will still be allowed to visit. Here's a hint for the mentally deficient: if you don't win according to the rules, you don't win. Crazy idea, huh?

Rooster normally I read your posts and see that you have a point....this time I don't. I made an observation and made that perfectly clear in my post and this now makes me a moron? Even your own post is inaccurate in so far as it contradicts itself

If a system has a rule and the rule is broken how can the first part and result still be considered valid. This is a double standard if ever there was one...I was being civil in my post please attempt to keep yours the same way. If the rules were not broken then my observation was wrong...and as such that should be the content of your post not allusions as to my mental state. If you wish to draw a parallel with a political situation other than the US then look to the former russian state that has just had an election and the opposition has manged to prove the ruling party broke the rules so a new election has been ruled as required by High Court (of the country)

american electoral college system works per state. not as a nationwide popular vote.

if gore won every one of his states 100% pop vote and bush won all of his states by only 5% then gore would have a larger popular vote than bush, but since bush won more electoral votes, by winning more states, by less of a margin. he still wins. thats the rules of the game. result. bush wins

Yep, in theory all you need to win is > 25% of the vote.

Its possible to get almost 75% of the popular vote but still lose the election.

Slightly humourus. :) Does have some good points.
Although the thing about Rugby.. American Rugby is much more rough, so I'm going to attack that one, not much else to say.

                              That's what I meant.
                              I messed them up.

                              European LAX is wimpy.
                              So nevermind.

erm, rugby and lacrosse are nothing alike :)

And rugby is more physical. Lacrosse is more of a finesse game, although it is also extremely physical.

I don't think anyone would say lacrosse is rougher than rugby, though. At least us lacrosse players wear a couple pads.
