Do a little research on racial profiling and college entrance applications. It's been a pretty hot political topic over the last 10 years.
Just as an example, when I took the ACT's in high school a friend of mine stated his race as a minority just as a joke. Within 2 weeks he had scholorship offers from all over the country just because they thought he was a minority.
I guess that's one example of how race effects what you're applying for.
Someting to think about.Comment

I dont think its a question of whether it DOES happen or not, I think its an issue of SHOULD it happen. I don't beleive it should; if you happen to be of Native decent, and are just plain stupid, I will hate you. Unfortunately, that is seen as rascist because they ARE of a different 'race'.

My statement was intended to be sarcastic and rhetorical. What i meant was, what is it about your race that qualifies or disqualifies someone. Whatever it is, its wrong.Originally posted by MerDo a little research on racial profiling and college entrance applications. It's been a pretty hot political topic over the last 10 years.

Your friend shouldve taken one of those scholarship offers. What are they gonna do? Revoke it when they find out?

Perfect example that proves that the white male is the ONLY true minory. We have no laws that protect us.Comment

I would have loved to see the expressions on their face when white boy Paul showed up for his scholarship.

Expression on the board of director's faces when a white boy shows up for a minority scholarship, Priceless"

Yes, their was a case of this a while ago. They made a mistake processing a white persons application and gave him a scholarship for being black. When they realized their mistake they tried to revoke the scholarship. This in my opinion is racist and should be just as illigle as having a "no blacks" sign outside a store.Originally posted by taylor492Your friend shouldve taken one of those scholarship offers. Translation: I agree that scholarships reserved for anyone with a sole qualifier of race are unfair, morally objectionable, and should be deemed illegal.
However.. rememer you sign up for the ACT by mail - ie MAIL FRAUDLast edited by Lohman446; 12-21-2004, 01:59 PM."Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. Its not" - Dr SuessComment
