a lot of the kids that participate in underage drinking end up ruining their lives COMPLETELY.

sure, you may ruin your life by voting illegally back in the day, but that was for a decent cause.

what have you got to benefit from underage drinking??

I've seen more people screw over their lives drinking over the age of 21. Usually people who werent allowed to drink and had no experience so when they hit 21 they went nuts.

Plus, there needs to be more atention paid to things that matter law wise than some kids getting drunk, like you know, terrorists and mormons.

I have yet to see a single person in my life that has ruined their life because of underage drinking. I know a few people who's life is pretty recked from drinking, but the problem only started later in their lives ( around 30's )

As for how you benefit from underage drinking, it's the same as how you can benefit from legal age drinking. Some might say there is no benifit, others might say it can be benifical in that it's a fun time. All depends on the person, and how they drink. I my self am 16 and have only gotten drunk a hand-full of times, but I see no harm in it. As long as your responsible and not stupid. I perfer to get my highs another illegal way

yes, but i'm sure some of those people also started drinking underage, and eventually ruined there life from the addiction.

i don't know if that's the case, but i've seen it happen around here plenty of times.

and so what happens when your caught?? a lot of you people may think you're invincible, but you're not - no matter how responsible you are. i've had numerous friends w/ this attitude that have ended up dead.

        it sucks to see happen.
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves. 'You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

It's quite possible that a few of your brain cells were 'recked" while you were drinking underage.

I personally think you had more pressing matters back then. Such as, oh uh, school?

There lies the problem. Drinking causes a serious lack of judgement so the things you say when you are sober don't really have as much of an effect when you are plastered. I would throw out a guess that at least 25% of people who drink and drive say they won't drink and drive before they start drinking (I just got really confused typing that). It's especially hard when morons brag about how they drove home drunk and managed to fall asleep in their dog kennel, and they think it's cool. Peer pressure is real, but mostly subconscious.

              Edit:

If you haven't seen it, it can't be true...right guys? Am I right????

You are 16, which means that most of the people you have seen underage drinking are probably only a couple years older than you (don't lie). That means that you haven't even had the chance to see how their lives have been ruined, because the little things that happen now snowball later in life...ie underage drinking could cause lower grades and/or lack of ambition which leads to not going to college which leads to a life that is worse than they could have had. I know that doesn't happen very often, but it DOES happen. Believe me, I have seen it too many times. It's different looking from the outside in. (And yes, I have been there done that, and I just don't see the excitement of drinking until your decision making skills drops to that of a 3 year old...which is how most high schoolers drink, don't deny that either)

You most assuredly will see someone you know die from an alchohol related traffic accident before you turn 21. Period. The statistics are there.

No, drinking at 16 is different. Your body is still developing, and so is your mind. Also, the habits you form now will pretty much stick with you.

Not saying I never did it; just saying its not a good one to overdo.
