Double Standard, Ahoy!

You know, I hope that next year, P-Day is at my college. We deserve it.

EDIT: That wasn't filter circumvention in the quote, that is how it was written in the article.

Why? Because giving males the same rights as females is totally out of the question, right?

There is a million ways his "Hahahahaha, crazy." could have been taken. It could be crazy that they got in trouble for P-Day. It could be crazy that there is a V-Day. It could be crazy that there was a gnome walking across his computer desk when he replied. You must not be in a very good mood today, seeing as how you understood it.

I understood how his could be taken, but I used my interpretation to bring up a point. Incidently, you're right. I had an...interesting night last night, so I'm feeling a little pugnacious today.

[tropical_fishy]

bah. ridiculous. if men want a day to celebrate their anatomy (other than every other day of the year), let them have it.

Must not let the poor little rich white boys feel persecuted.

[Target Practice]

Must not let the poor little rich white boys feel persecuted.

Hahahaha, lovely. Yeah, because us poor little rich white boys are inferior.

How about the attention whore-y, ungrateful, inconsiderate, feminazi, hypocritical, I'm-so-liberated-it-hurts fridgid ice queens that try to make men out to be barbarians?

So, when every man is considered a potential rapist, it's okay?
When every man is given a big universal rolleyes and told "hey, shut up, we don't care what you think", it's okay?

So when I say every woman is a potential STD transmitter, and that we should treat them thusly (social ostrization, campaigns against them, workshops on how to avoid them) It's also okay, right?
And I can tell women that they shouldn't feel persecuted when people ignore them, because relative to the 1800's, they have lots of rights?

so I'm feeling a little pugnacious today.

Thanks for saving me the time of searching that myself

There were a couple of girls in a town a couple hours away that say the vagina monologues and liked it so much they started wearing "I <3 My Vagina" t-shirts to school (high school). They initially got in trouble, but the decision to punish them got reversed or maybe they just aren't cooperating and now they have more girls wearing the shirts and even guys wearing "I heart your vagina" shirts, or something along those lines. I can't remember the story very well, but it might come up on a search of google. the city it happened in is winona, mn.

I think it's ok to have the untraditional v-day, but keep it at colleges and let the boys have their fun too. No need to reverse-gender discriminate on the men.

It happens quite frequently after "revolutions" of any kind.

The revolutionaries become what they revolted against. Look at France, heck, look all over history all over the world.

Personally I think that we should be "equal, but different" and leave it at that.

Target Practice is my hero yall

Lol, i bet a large portion of the "P-Day"ers werent even white, probably even had female participants. Not every woman feels the need to be superior to men you know...

Man, I feel so dirty being a white male, ew i should just kill myself im so despicable (remind me not to use a shotgun), i cant believe what ive done!

Maby you should be critisizing the Japanese or the original Muslim Kings who did what we white males apparently do (but believe it or not to a worse extreme) in their own lands before our influence...?

What about the amazons?

And what about the children, the poooooor children? Whos mommies are now taking male roles and warping the kids minds!?

And like duzzy said, we are different but equal. I hate to tell you that i just read an article in newsweek with the latest studies on male vs. female brains. Guess what, men have 10% bigger brains, factoring in height and everything. Womens brains are bigger in one part though, vocalization (wow big suprise there). I could extrapolate from there...

*struts out of the thread, short jewish blackanese female slave in tow*

The Women's Lib Movement: Equality for all! Just less for men.

Way to go! Stereotype all feminists to the point where we're just feminist because we can't get guys. Oh, and we're all pro-abortion lesbians who want to eat babies. Woooo.

Besides, I don't think the guys should have gotten punished for what they did. I'm not condoning V-day or whatever such nonsense this is... I just think that when men get all bent out of shape about this kind of thing it's amusing. As a white male, you're guarenteed more opportunities in life than most other people. On the other hand; you can't call yourself a feminist unless oyu believe in equality, and that's not all fun and games either. For example, the draft. Women should be included if they are truly societal equals to men.

And about the potential rapist deal? I'm sorry, but I consider that SMART. Maybe not if you know the person, but even then.... rapes happen. Women in general have to be careful. Are you going to begrudge me that?

As far as I can see, the Women's Lib movement hardly made a dent in the partriarchal society that MEN run. You know, I'll be happy when there's no glass ceiling. I'll be happy when a woman and a man doing the same job get the same pay. And you know what? I'll be even happier when I don't have to worry about riding the subway or buses alone.

Nobody's calling you inferior. Don't get huffy just because I happen to want the same opportunities as you.
