As far as not using .50 caliber on humans, we use .50 caliber on the mounted machine guns on humvees, as well as the gatling on the apache's (unless I'm mistaken). I'm pretty sure there is something in the geneva convention about not striking civilian targets, like setting car bombs off in front of churches and flying planes into buildings.

As my buddy who was in the marines says, "Nuke the whole country. We can drill through glass to get to the oil."

First, this thread had already died and gone away...

Second, there is no restriction on .50 cal use against soft targets by any convention, agreement, nor accord.

Third, the AH64 uses a 30mm cannon, single barrel, auto feed. This is known as a Chain Gun, due to a large chain that forces the bolt to shuttle back and forth under 24v power.

Fourth, the Geneva Convention only dealt with the treatment of prisoners and captured wounded, nothing else.
