"Good" Games?

If you game at all you have to get the 360 just for the sole fact that it comes out a year earlier. If you call yourself a gamer and say "Nah, I'll just wait on PS3" you should feel disgraced.

Sorry but I dont have the money like you do, so I pick the 'better' system.

Half of the stuff everyone is calling "gameplay" for the PS3 is a bunch of screenshots and cut scenes. I don't think its fair to compare the two.

MGS4's grahpics were ALL in-game and not pre-rendered at all. I know this first hand.

Regardless of it all, PS3 will be supreme, purely because it is being launched a year later. A year more development, and another year to implement technology.

(Edit: 99 Knights actually looks good, I forgot about that game, thought it was a PS3 release. I give Xbox the benefit with that game. But what does it have that Dynasty Warriors doesnt? 50 more people on screen and magic spells? Such innovation.)

HD-DVDs are cheaper to produce. Period. If this were and ideal world and companies chose which prodcucts to market based on which was better we would all be using bluray, but since companies are cheap and want to make the most money HD-DVD will take over. just my uneducated opinion. I can't remember what other company (other than microsoft) just endorsed hd-dvd, but its a big one. it was in the Times the other day.

It was Panasonic. But Panasonic only controls the DVD Players, not the actual DVD's themselves (Sony creates/owns most DVD's they sell). Wherever Sony takes their DVD's, DVD Player companies (such as panasonic) will have to follow, or else they go bankrupt. Easy as that.

i was going to say 300 dollors is alot

it may seem just a little bit at first but its alot.

and for being 15 and not able to work for an other 2 months only $$ i can get is from selling my xbox and working at my grandmothers old farm ( used to be a farm but not anymore i just call it that)

really 300 for a gameing system is NUTS but two worlds that make people buy

The disks are cheaper but, the next generation games require more work so development costs drive retail up.

Definately Xbox 2. You definately get more for your money, as MS is willing to sell them at a loss, whereas Sony is not. They rely on the PS line to shore up profits for the WHOLE Sony corporation, whereas MS is so profitable (despite the best efforts of our idiotic govenment and courts) that they can take a loss on the Xbox line just to gain market share.

Plus, Im pretty sure that Xbox live is refined enough to destroy any online system PS comes up with, especially if they rely on software vendors to provide servers. And, as far as I'm concerned, online play is the only way to play a game.

PS3 will undoubtly be better for the fact that it is using BluRay, while Xbox 360 will be supporting HD-DVD. If I recall, Sony distributes a huge amount of movies, which are all going to be BluRay. Have fun buying a Xbox 360 and BluRay player, because I highly doubt many companies are going to print in HD-DVD.

On the gaming lineup. Well its hard to say right now. PS3's graphics are easily passing anything the Xbox is putting out (MGS4 anyone?), but maybe Halo 3 can compete, I, nor any of you, know that, since none of you even really know the exact release date of Halo 3. Halo 3 is a great game, but honestly, I see as its the only thing going for Xbox at the moment. There are no real amazing launch titles for the 360, nor are there any really lined up that tickle my fancy. FFXI? Wow I've only been playing that on the PLAYSTATION 2 for the past 6 months. The game is NOT all its cracked up to be, and it WILL be another gimmick like Phantasy Star Online was for the Dreamcast.

Whats this talk about RARE? Wow, the last good game they made was Donkey Kong 2, which was for... Super Nintendo? Oh wait, they do have Conker, but again, this makes what. A total of 2 games for Xbox? Oh wait no, they have "CliffyB"'s Gears of War. 3

On the other hand..

The PS3 is looking to be an amazing machine. The power its pushing is amazing. The graphics, before gameplay, will easily blow away any person watching it. MGS4's real-time demo was amazing. I couldnt believe the graphics that machine is putting out. PS3 has ALL of the major 3rd party developers on their side, no doubt about it. With the power of the 3rd party on their side, and the platformer games they are putting out? I seriously doubt Sony will have to worry at all about the PS3. The only gripe I have about PS3 is I hope they have a good way to monitor online play. Many games, online, such as Socom, usually went unwatched for the most part and it was extremely easy to cheat. I know this is the same in other games such as Halo. But it seems like Microsoft might defenitely have an advantage on the online world.

Im actually excited about playing games on the Revolution myself. At first glance, the controller looks really horrible, and as if no 3rd party company would want to develop games for it. But there was tons of talk on the showroom floor at TGS, from 3rd party developers who were extremely excited about the controller and its capabilities. Nintendo is defenitely taking a chance with this one, but their system will cost 1/2 the price the other two cost, and have some of the most innovative games probably to date. I am excited because Nintendo is actually taking a chance with their innovation, and I really hope they pull it off.

Thats all I have to say for now.

Well if you look on slashdot (www.slashdot.org) it looks as if Blu Ray isnt very realistic, and that HD DVD will be the more efficient disc at the moment theyre not sure if Blu Ray discs can even be manufactured. However HD DVD discs can be at this moment.....I do wish Blu Ray would work but i doubt it will happen anyways... yeah
