I like the new XD's. I have shot Glocks, Berettas, and Colts under "battlefield conditions" and the only model I ever experienced any trouble with a failed ejection (stovepiping) was the Colt 1911! Any model pistol like this will suffer the same fate if it is worn enough.

The short barrels are good for tactical shooting when you are drawing from a holster. In November I had to qualify on the Depart. of Homeland Security pistol course. Pretty much 90% of the course was shooting from a draw. The shorter arrel just adds some speed to your draw. You really don't notice any loss in accuracey at the short pistol ranges.

yeah I guess so if you sit down and think about it. But I don't like change there have been screw ups in the past by our miltary forces in the past like switching from 308 to 5.56, 45 to 9mm, The SAW in general. I just like what has been proven. The only reason I love USP's is the fact they are the same as MK23 SOCOM but they are shorter and everyone knows the SOCOM is provin to work when you draw it.

Bringing this back from the dead.

Well if anyone cares, after 23 weeks I got my nj handgun permits (2)

That pic of the xd45 on the first page is about how big that thing really is. Except fot the really small people it could be a CC gun.

Anyway after all that waiting I bought a xd 45 and a sig 229r in 40. Love them both, The sig feels bigger in my hands then the xd. I shoot the sig pretty good but need more range time, but the xd shoots like a 1911 to me, I am able to hit the X and ten ring repeatable at 25 yards.

Sorry no pics yet, camera is dead.

        Next step springfied m1 socom.
