    Paypal Techsupport.

The other night, i go to send a payment of $25.00

I click 'ok' and paypal says 'Congratulations, you've just sent 2,500.00 USD to *email*'

So, I'm a little on edge here. I call the bank, they tell me to come up. I go up, and stand in line for 20 minutes, finally to be told "well, we cant realy do anything. Paypal will bounce the check 3 times, each time charging you a 35 dollar fee.'

I emailed paypal, i get a reply in broken english, with a ton of typos, so i decide to call them.

At first, i was amazed they hadnt outsourced to india. As i could ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND these people.

Then, they get to telling me 'Well, we cant do anything either.' then the guy transfers me over to a guy named 'paul' with the most feminine voice i've EVER heard, and 'he' proceeds to tell me 'Sir, i'm really really really really really sorry, but we are unable to do anything at all for you.' (yes, he said really that many times.)

So, i reply with 'Thats pretty effin' worthless.' to which he replys 'Excuse me sir, no need for profanity, or insults, i'm just a service rep."

--- So, now, i'm going to be out about 200 bucks, easy, and theres nothing i can do.

    I'm ready to stab someone.

"Please make sure the following information is correct before you complete your payment."

TO try and actually be helpful: Are you on good terms with the person to whom you sent money? Can they decline the payment? Not sure when in the transaction process they can see it.

I know when working with government/police/hospital/anyone important and official when something happens, it is impossible to be calm and patient. However, I am sure if you spoke to the right person, you could get the 200 back. So when replying with "thats __ worthless" if he could have done something, why would he bother?

Yes, I have dealt with that kind of situation, and there is no place in my mind that wanted to kiss their *** so I could get things done, but eventually it works..

When he told you he could no longer help you I would have asked for either his manager or another department. As has been noted someone, somewhere, could have helped.

I'm going to call again, and ask to talk to someone else.

Well, i'm on the phone, and mightve found someone with a bit of a brain.

He's going to ask his 'supervisor' now...

He said something along the lines of 'wow, that would suck, good idea with not giving up, let me find someone who can help you.'

Tuna, there isnt that kind of cash in the PP acct. So, it instantly started an e-check.

Well, there isnt that much in the PP account, nor the checking acct its linked to. (thank god its not linked to a credit card or something...)

Anyways, i just got off the phone with another paypal guy.

He explained the situation, how it works, whats going to happen, and everything like that. He didnt just say 'Uhh, i cant do anything.'

I called the bank again, and told them what he'd said, and they told me i can come in and sign an affadavit, stating i tried to get them to reverse the transaction, but it didnt happen, thus taking care of the bank's fees.

Paypal is just going to decline the payment with a insufficent funds claim, and my bank is going to try to charge me 70 bucks tops, where those should be able to be waived anyways.

Gah, its looking a little better, but this still sucks. <_<

You need to get bank management.
                          They can waive the fees.
About 6 years ago I had someone hack my Paypal account and try and send
themselves $1000.00 from my bank account.
Well first of all I had $12.00 in there (divorced, child support, yada yada yada)
so he picked the wrong guy.LOL
But Paypal told me their computers automatically send a transaction twice.
My bank waived the two overdraft fees, but I did have to open a new account and close
                          the original bank account.

So go nicely tell the manager you need some help because you really have enjoyed
banking with them and hoped you wouldnt have to change banks.

Honestly as bad as some of the "Paypal stinks" sites horror stories are, I wouldnt
use any other online payment. Just keep your Paypal account empty.
Dont leave money in there and they cant freeze anything.
They arent a bank and they play by their own rules which they make up as they go along.
You want to Ebay? Theres no faster more widely used way to pay or recieve payment.
                          Good luck !

Yeah a good tip to anyone: if you use profanity or cuss out the Service Rep prepare to not get near as much service as you would have if you were polite and corteous.

This is from a service rep.
