I believe that if you feel you need a gun to protect yourself then it is time to get out, however this is not always a possibility....

Well firstly my main weapon of choice to defend myself IS MYSELF, I feel I can defend myself against most people, ragrdless of size.
Secondly, apart fromt he armed police outside the Prime ministers house there is almost no armed body guards acompanying our polatitions for domestic use.
Thirdly, in this country the gun is not the criminals prefered weapons of use, gun crime in comparison is very small.
Another point is that not all guns are banned here, and your examples are very valid, although I can supply millions of instances where guns have caused death.

Some prefer guns some do not, however trying to prove we "need" them for self defense isn't going to work.
I personally don't need a firearm to defend myself, I have been threatened with a knife several times and been in multiple assults. Yet through self defense I have walked away unscathed most of the time, if I was armed I COULD have killed someone in self defense.
THAT is why I dislike guns for self defense they CAN lead to unnecessery shootings and consiquently deaths.

If there is the rare occasion that someone needs to be shot for the interests of the publics safty then I will leave that responsibility up to the police who are more than compitant.



Gun crime still exists because criminals can still obtain firearms easily, however no law totally eradicates a crime, has prison sentencing eradicated rape?, if not why do we still have those restrictions?.
My point is, the gun laws in place help contain the crime. The polic ehave new powers to help seize fire arms and the like. We also are slowly but surely cracking down in the illigal import of firearms.
All legislation helps make getting hold of firearms difficult, and ever more so.


These laws are totally seperate from paintball and will not effect it in a negative way.


p.s. Yet again I feel that it is idiotic to remain in a situation or place where you need firearms to defend yourself, in those rare situations where you are confronted I believe firearms are not the answer.

And where would you go? And when you finaly "feel it" will it be too late to get one? Will you be able to?

In that situation I shall take the short trip to the Imperial Palace of Justice (a.k.a the local police station) and inform the nice people of the situation.

I just want to be a smart alec here...really this is just in jest...but think about it:

Did you restrain your assaulters until they were arrested? Did they get arrested?
How many more people got assaulted by the same people who assaulted you?
Were they able to defend themselves as easily?
What if they went on to kill someone else with said knife?
What if you were to have ended the life of said assaulters?

On one of those occasions yes I did restrain a person for a short time, and yes they where arrested.( I believe thats called a citezens arrest)
I can't tell how many others have been assualted by them in the past, it was 2 attackers V 2 persons including me and a friend.
They where agressive and one was very strong, with a weight advantage although I was able to subdue them.
On the occasion I have been threatened with a knife they have been delt with by the police, so unless they decided to commit suicide in the cell that night, they did not kill anyone.
The reason I defend myself using my own body is because I never want to end the life of anyone where I can avoid it.

I delt with the situation as I saw fit and as a result nobody was hurt, the police where my greatest weapon and I feel safe knowing thats true.

If I where to carry weapons in the name of self defense, they would be non lethal.



p.s. a lot of situations can be resolved using common sense, violence is always a last resort.
