I've been meaning to listen to Atreyu and In Flames for a while now, time to track down their stuff.

On a side note, I wonder how many people know where the name Atreyu came from?

I really like In Flames. My favorite newer albums are Come Clarity, Soundtrack To Your Escape, and Reroute To Remain. An older one, Jester Race: Black Ash Inheritance is pretty cool from what i've heard, very diff. from the aforementioned though.

I remember it took me a week to learn and perfect 'Always with me, always with you' on guitar. I still can't get the tone he's got.

That's a good idea. As soon as I'm back up to e standard, I'll try that.
I've been experimenting with alot of lower tunings. B standard, C, etc etc. Lots of fun.

Come on, toss out some reccomended music dude.

No, I'm not kidding. The Eve of the War is just plain awesome.

I had the pleasure of meeting Paul Gilbert once, great guy.
I wonder if there's any truth to the rumour that he trained Buckethead.
You've got some good taste listed up there.

                              Lucky!

I read somewhere that it is true that he taught buckethead quite a bit, and many people think that buckethead is actually paul gilbert because they are both tall and gangly and play pretty much the same, but I believe this has been proven false. If you look close they use the same techniques.

Haha, I can't believe I forgot to list metallica! Kirk hammett is probably the most influential guitarist on me, seeing as his techniques are easy and easily adaptable. I never was a fan of his wah usage though. I'm hoping their new album is as good as it is hyped up to be.

I like to listen to Metallica everyonce in a while. My Favorite songs being No Leaf Clover, and Minus Human.

The S&M album wasn't bad at all.

After St. Anger, I wouldn't hold your breath man.

And man, I've been on this insane Meshuggah listening thing lately.
Lots and lots of tech metal.

I've also dug up alot of old music I've written. With other people, or for other people. I look back an listen to how terrible I used to be with a guitar, and how much I've gotten better.

I went from using a cheap Monitor mic and windows sound recorder, to better, more clear recordings.
