    AGD R&D Update

What's happening in AGD R&D? AO, It's been a while since I updated you so I thought this would be a good time. SO what the heck have we been doing? Here is a recap but before we go on I wanted to explain some of the terminology and how we (and you) should think about things. First of all we have two categories for research projects, 1: long term and 2: short term. If it's a long term project that means its on a mental list but we are not working on it weekly. Short term of course means

New Odyssey Trigger AKA Roller Trigger

New Odyssey Trigger! Yes AO here it is. Now it was SUPPOSED to be simple so no complaints about "that's all there is!!?" because this is all you need! It takes a different technique to achieve light speed rates with this. You hold the marker with your right hand as usual, then place the thumb on your LEFT hand under the trigger guard. To fire you use your index finger to move UP and DOWN over the roller on the trigger!! Very simple yet SUPER effective. Yes this was formerly known as the...

Welcome to the Automags.org Prototype Lab. Here you will find posts made by Tom when he was posting all of the prototypes on AO for feedback. This information is a direct copy/paste from the old AO server....

AO, After more testing and observation of first time users, we have decided that short stroking the trigger is only likely to happen when you fan or walk the trigger. When used for single shots it works great. We added more reactivity into proto "C" but the trigger ran away easily so we are going to make the version everyone has tested. The prints are done and the parts are ordered. Depending on the machine shops schedule we could get them in a few weeks. We are pushing to have them by IAO for...

ULE Trigger, Can You Shoot It Right? Trigger Happy AO'ers, A new issue has become apparent with the lightweight trigger. With lowered reactivity, it is much easier to short stroke the trigger and "chuff" a shot. Virtually everyone that picks the gun up for the first time does this. The problem is that a chuff pushes a ball into the barrel where it sits there and the next shot blows the hell out of it. Now your barrel is dripping with paint. I am particularly worried about this because most peo...

Important Announcement on the ULE Trigger AO, As you know there has been much anticipation for the new ULE Trigger. In the past I have stated that I thought the mod would retrofit into all existing guns. I was wrong. Right now the mod will not retrofit into any valve that has a single oring in the bottom of the on/off assembly. These are usually found in stainless valve RTpros and may be in some other retro valved guns. It will also go into but not work well in standard valves. They...

ULE Trigger and Y Frame Update and other Stuff All, While I am sitting in the airport coming back from EMR I will give you the latest on the new products. ULE Trigger is still in testing. We have reduced the reactivity but it has a tendency to short stroke when you pick it up and shoot it for the first time. We are debating on the marketing vs tournament rules on this. We are trying a few different things to see if we can cut down the short strokes without upping the reactivity. We are targe...

Super Light Mechanical Trigger Update AO, Everyone is talking about foolish ways to modify their triggers to get it lighter since I started researching a lightweight trigger. I have gotten tired of listening to everyone complain that we never get things out so I have shut up about projects that I know for sure you will like. Triggers are a safety issue so against my now sharpened marketing skills I felt it was important to give you an update to shut all this down. Yes we do have a work...
