Only Mag Enthusiast In Your Area ?

Are you one of the only mag enthusiasts in your area, at your local field ?

Ever been asked by the Ion kiddies if your marker is a Shocker ?

Do you get asked what kind of marker is that every time you play ?

After finding out you are shooting a mag, do you find some of the kids are following you around during games ?

Did you let any of them shoot your mag so they get bitten by the mag addiction bug ?

Spread the mag love fella's, one person at a time !

Living in SoCal, there are mag lovers all over the place but me and my local buddy are pretty much the only ones that play with em at the local field. People always ask what guns they are or where we got those parts made. I try to let people shoot my guns a few times on the side just so they can see what it feels like and to prove that no matter how old of a gun you use, you can still light people up.

I myself am one of those guys who got to try out a mag and then got hooked by them. Looper(on here) was the only mag enthusiast that was playing at our local field. Last year I was looking to get a new gun. I had already shot his tac one during one of our open play days and then he was nice enough to give me a stock mag with a custom valve. Yes he gave me a mag, however there was a stipulation. I was not to keep it but build on it. First was the XValve, then an Inteli Frame, a tac one body and I have a rt rail in the mail. I plan on building more in the future or buying up as many as I can. All I can say is thanks to looper, it is definitely a life style change and a addiction. My wife and wallet appreciate ite.

On a side note, I still enjoy grabbing up other guns, for who doen'st enjoy collecting markers?

        This mag, broke the tables

In all fairness, it does look like a shocker a bit. More often than not I get asked why my gun is made out of wood.

I'm pretty much the only guy using a Mag at my local field. Most kids think it's an Ion/Shocker where the older guys kind of know what it is (DW bodies throw them for a loop )

However, at one point last year I met a Magger at special event last year. He used to frequent AO but kind of lost interest after a while... never saw him again.

I thought I was the only mag lover in my area, until I met Turtlehumper2000 at my local field. Glad to see I'm not the only automaggot.

I was playing woodsball with some guys up in Sacramento (I live on the central coast, CA). I was shooting my Y-framed MicroRT, one of the guys asked if it was an angel. Granted, he also asked if I was using oxygen to fill up my HP tank.

I play a lot of woodsball here at home and I'm the only one with a Mag out of the regulars I play with. Though we have played with another group of guys, one with a classic mag, one an old cocker and two with ULE X-valved mags.

I recently picked up my first cocker after 15 years of paintball. Since then I've gotten three more. All in all I've spent less than $175 on all of them. I was playing last weekend and a kid (around 13 years old) asked if I spent a grand on my 98 cocker. I told him "35 bucks on craigslist". It's really a shame that all these little kids are being sucked in to buying (or having their parents buy for them) guns that cost a few hundred dollars and don't work when they can pick up a nice old school mag or cocker for around $100-$150. But, I guess that's just the way it is.

I live in northwest CT, and everywhere I go I rarely see a mag. Nobody on my team even knows how a mag works, or if it's mechanical or electric. They see the warp feed and suddenly they are either so afraid they say something like "I've heard those things suck" or "That's AWESOME! I bet that thing can take out a whole team!"

When I play scenarios locally, I might see one or two mags, more at the West Point games, but they are quite elusive, and owning one makes me feel like such a rebel! It would be cool to see more mag-toters around my area, but trying to convert people from their tippanns or smart parts guns is nearly impossible, even after I school them with my marker. (which is still only a mech, haha)

Must I digress, I did meet a few cool guys with mags at the Fox 4 scenario games. I hope to meet up with them again!

I'm playing with my Minimag this Sat at my local field in TN. I expect to be the only person there with a mag of any kind, as I have never seen one there any time I've played there. I bet only the field owner and a couple refs will know what it is!

There is more of use around than one thinks, but are inactive. Normally you don't see people on the field at the same time unless it is some AO get together. Those of you not at the last Shattner game wouldn't believe the amount of mags in play! Sadly many of the people here don't even have a mags anymore , but choose to stay in the community. I think it is the broad range of knowledge that graces the pages of AO and what each of use collectively bring to the table from our past experiences that make this owners group the best by far. Of coarse it doesn't hurt that AGD has given us the best quality marker ever devised.

believe it or not, all my buddies that I play with use Emag's well most of them anyway.
and of course we get the "what is that" question, sometimes i tell them its a tippman like there rentals.....haha

where i play we dont get alot of guys with there own equipment, mostly rentals.

I'm the only one around here that I know of. It's funny, though. When I built my pneumag, the first question my friends asked was, "You spent how much money on that?" They mostly all have e-Spyders or A5s. Then, one day I let my one friend actually play a game with it while I tried pump for the first time in years. After one game, he told me, "I want a gun like yours." Now I have to build him a pneumag too.

The last game of last year a big guy around 30 years old named (Brian) Asked me what my gun was and he was shooting a Auto cocker. I told him it was a custum E-mag and he said what is that. lol

the past 3 different fields i have gone to around here have all been clueless to mags, its been an adventure.

first time - NH indoor paintball (reballs center) a few "ego***s" asked me what my tac one was and another one laughed at me and said "hey, look everyone... its a walmart special black maxx" i just laughed and walked away

second time - i was at a field in CT in east branford... an "ego***" as i call them, came up and asked if what i was shooting was a brass eagle... once again i just walked away (i was using my etac at the time)

third time - the most recent time, i went to a DIFFERENT field yet again, in CT... i went to strategy plus and was greeted by 2 people... 1 person had an SLG and the other older man had an A-5. the older guy looked at his younger son and said "hey look son, thats one of the old guns from the olden days... thats an old old autococker" and the son just said "i thought autocockers were quieter"

i couldnt stand it anymore and i actually lashed out at the older guy and the kid. Then i went to the chrono where i was finally greeted by a ref who politely said "i like your etac, can i try it?"

and i knew it was going to be a good rest of the day after that.

                              (ps sorry about the "swears")
