I am the only guy that play every weekend with a Mag at my field. I have seen 2 guys come down once, one had an RT and the other a Spydermag and they said they were AO'ers but I have never seen them again. Man, noone around here knows what a Mag is. I just tell them it is a really rare gun most of the time. When I tell them it is an Automag, they just look at me like what is he talking about.
What really kills people is when you bust out the Warpfeed! Noone knows what it is. Every single person is looking at you like what the??????I have atleast 20 people a day ask me what it is. Noone understands it. Kind of crazy. What really kills me though is that noone knows who Tom Kaye is or what AGD is. The guy is a genius and helped develope some of the best things out there. I think Mags are slowly making a come back though.

In Maryland, we've seen a real resurgence of Mags over the past several years. Once I bought my Tac-One & starting using it at the local scenarios, they started popping up all over (and quite a few people were bringing out RT's & Classics as well).

On a good scenario day, we can see 40 - 50 Mags out on the field now.

I know im not the only mag enthusiast in the area. But it does seem that whenever I play im the only one using a automag. Typically get alot of quiestions about the pumpmag especially from others that are using pumps.

I'm in RI, but play in a lot of nearby fields in MA, CT, NH. In general I'm the only there with a mag, but recently at MA fields especially I'm finding more mags and people that actually know what they. This past weekend game in ludlow, MA, I saw a tac1 and someone with a classic valve there and a ref who really wanted one and asked me how mine was and what it had.

I've noticed that in the areas around me that there is a bit of a resurgence of mechs going on and more and more people are less surprised by the mag and more seem to want one.

Nice! What part of RI are you from? Which fields do you go to? Am I hijacking this thread?

I loooooovvvvveeee it. I've used Cocker's, Tippman's, etc... but nothing got me hooked like my Tac One. Funny thing is everyone in my area always asks me at least 2 times what kind of gun I use. Most newb's will smile and nod like they know what I'm talking about when I tell them, when it's obvious they've never heard of anything but Ion's, tippman's, spyders, and ego's.

I'm still waiting to get my ULE trigger kit to really show them what mechanical can do, but already even the Angel owner's are impressed. Currently I'm the only automag shooter, but honestly I know at least 2 guys who are just saving the funds to get one.
That's interesting, I'm up in Davis County UT and there were several of us mag shooters a few years back. There was a sort of mag resurgence when Spec Ops (based out of North Salt Lake) was really pushing their Longbow kits. A lot of the South Davis County and North Salt Lake County people bought into the marketing. I had already known about the mags from the good old days, always wanted one but never enough to sink the money into it until I got to shoot Jayson Orvis's longbow at a game in Baur.

Unfortunately I've noticed a more recent decline in local mag shooters. Of course there's been a general drop in players overall too due to the economy. My wife and I are the only mag shooters I'm certain of in our area at the moment. She's shooting a XValved ULE and I a classic valved Tac One. We've also got a PF Hopper Right classic as a backup or loaner.

Its so bad when the only ppl that know what your shooting is The field manager and yourself. At my localfield I must have seen a total of 3 mags in one and a half years.I love it when kids ask about my Mag and ask what kind of eyes I'm using and whats that box on the side of my gun. just stop calling it an Ion

                        The mag will never die

I got my first mag from someone who is now one of my good friends. I always knew what a mag was, but I never gotten the chance to shoot one. I was reffing one day and this player next to me was shooting a tequila sunrise e-mag. I said "Nice marker." He said "want to shoot it?" As soon as I shot that gun, I became addicted. After many parts and many assembled guns later, my friend offered the gun to me. How could I say no? Being the macgyver-type, the idea of having a regulator valve and bolt all in one that I can put into anything filled my head with endless possibilities. To me they are the ultimate paintball marker because I can make whatever I want.

Ever been asked by the Ion kiddies if your marker is a Shocker ?

Do you get asked what kind of marker is that every time you play ?

After finding out you are shooting a mag, do you find some of the kids are following you around during games ?

Did you let any of them shoot your mag so they get bitten by the mag addiction bug ?

Spread the mag love fella's, one person at a time !

                          All of the above!!

Last time out I decided to use my old Z-grip for a while. To say it's an ugly marker is an understatement. I had about 10- 14 year olds asking "Does that even shoot"?? Went out the 1st game and was laying ropes down and moving up with a bunch of kids following me. Came back in and grabbed an Emag and let every one of them play a game with the Z. I had offers of Brand new Ions in trade. Their mothers were a little ticked when I told them how much I had in it, cause every kid wanted one.

Well since Elemental is in GA now i guess im the only mag guy at my feild. I think i have seen one other one beside mine and elemental's mags in the 2 yrs ive played there. I love when kids ask me what it is and if they can shoot it. I think its funny when i hand it to them and they ask where the on button is. My tac-one (well used to be a tac-one) RTs at 20bps so its kinda cool to show these kids that you dont have to have an Ego just to keep up. Then i break out the egomag and just blow there minds. I have been working on my friend jimmy for awhile and seems like he is about to crack and get a mag soon :P. hes coming to the CFP meet with me hopefully thasts the strw that will break the camels back LOL.
