It's funny, Mags are so rare (at least from what I've seen) in Southern California, that I get the same reaction to bringing out my custom Level 7 Mag, as I do when I drive up in my '57 Chevy.

A month ago, a friend of mine convinced me to go into paintball again, after a 3 or 4 year break. I had left the sport because my gun had broken down, my tank was damaged, I didn't have any money to fix it, and I really didn't have time.

So I took my RT Pro Custom to a Field Owner to see if he could fix it, since my valve wasn't tuned up correctly. After 2 weeks of waiting for a reply, and the guy, just checked the gun yesterday, he was talking smack about how AGD blows, about my old marker, "they don't make these anymore", "this is old crap, why don't you buy one of the new ones I have for sale" I don't know, it was just a total let down. lol.

Anyways, I can't wait to pneumag my RT Pro and show him mags still have a kick in them.

I get the same song and dance from every shop I've been to in Southern California.

now living in maine from california has been a blow back on my paintball years, but i'm finally picking it up again, and jus had to buy myself a mag. nothing better.

i'd say a legit estimate 95% of paintball players up here in maine have tippmans.. i hate it.

When I go to day games I never see mags. Occasionally someone will know what it is. I've only had one guy call it an Ion, usually I get a lot of "What is that's?"

The scenario scene is VERY different however. At Red Dawn in November (Oklahoma D-Day field. about 400 players I think) there were at least 10 mag players that I saw ranging from old minimags to warpfeed emags. At one point during a very long wait gettign ready to go out, we were setting our guns down on the ground. One guy started laughing because without planning it, 6 mag players had all set theirs beside each other. It looked reminicent of A-Tach's infamous mag collection pic.

At Panzer Attack last weekend (400 players) I saw at least 6 mags, and 4 AKA Vikings. One player even stopped me when I was walking past in my AO t-shirt just to tell me "I love it."

The field I go to still has Level 5 Automag rentals, though in recent years since they started buying Ion's and renting those out, the Mag's have just gathered dust on the wall My field has 10 people or so with Pheunmag's, RT's and your standard 68 Mag. This year at the all day one, I'm gonna bring Lionheart with me to split Ion's

I am not the only one thats a true mag lover, there is a scenario team player that uses a warp tac, but I am the only one that shoots an E mag for miles around, the only other time I have seen one used at a game was when I went to the largest game in Oregon, the warpaint supergame (about 700 players)

but on a normal day of play, usually I am the only one shooting mags, my budy every so often will bust out his very clean, and nice centerfeed minimag, but he needs to be slapped as he wants to get rid of it...and I just got laied off so I can't buy it

most of the time people think its an ion, others think its a Quest or something like that.

I have educated the field owners/workers so at least someone recognizes a mag when they see one!

I love it when I use my mech and I rip off a string of balls at about 15-20 bps, and someone asks me what board I am using, sometimes I say empire b2, and then they get frustrated, because I just told them the only electronic thing on my gun...my hopper.

I got my first mag in November, and I haven't got to use it yet because I broke my foot but when I told my friends, they where like, "an Auto-what?" I can't wait to get back out to the field with it and see all of the kids going and all of the older guys going

I was just at my local shop (if you consider 45 minutes away local) and the guy there actually had a Minimag with a green Eclipse splash kit. He even had a brand new Warp feed back from the day that he never sold. I walked in with my mom (I broke my driving foot ) and he asks, "you looking to get into the sport?" (I'm guessing that a teenager walking in with his mom=newb) and I say no, so he ask what I shoot, I say Classic Mag, him I was so proud of myself

At my field there is me and another dude who has automags.
one guy I saw once had a 68 classic.. and acually the most mag enthused people at my field are the ones with autocockers. they taught me a bunch when it came to my automag.

I drilled and tapped one of the classic rails I had for standard bottomline spacing. Some stocks and ASAs can now fit on it but some other ASAs have too much "meat" in front of the front hole and bump into the back of the grip frame.

I mostly use it without the backbottle setup but I like the idea that I can. I guess I won't part with it any time soon.

A few weeks back I went to an event in Eagle Mountain, Utah and don't recall seeing any other mags than mine and my wife's but I wasn't really looking either. One of the ref's at the event I know is a mag shooter. I was pleased to see at least one guy shooting a Blazer.
