When you tell a newbie you have an automag

My brother was told once "I used to have a mag and sold it for this [Shocker]. Keep your mag."

And I can only imagine the comments next time I go to the field with my Warp fed Stingray (warp should be here tomorrow :-)

by far the funniest i have heard was when i was playing at an indoor field where my dad lives and nobody knew me there or anything. this kid comes up to me and asks what kinda gun do i have (i have a 68 with double trigger) and his friend next to him tells him its the first kind of angel and the battery (valve) was on the back

Well, I don't own a Mag, but I do own a Cocker. I think pretty much anyone who doesn't own a blow back or a K Mart pump gets some pretty funny comments about their guns. Here are some I've heard newbs say/ask about my Cocker:

"Dude, full auto guns are a waste of ammo."
"Your trigger is shorter than my friend's Angel (keep in mind this is a stock sliding trigger BM Cocker)."
"What kind of Spyder is that (I wanted to cry)?"

I ALWAYS get asked why there are batteries in my hopper too. And get this, last Saturday, a newb told his friend I had a laser on my hopper (on/off LED light), LOL!

Back when I had my old E-Spyder, a newb also complimented me on my "nice Angel." I didn't say anything for that one, I didn't exactly know what to think.

P.S. I just thought I'd throw this in here: My local feild's FPS limit is 225 (yeah, I know, it sucks), right? So anyway, I've been thinking about getting a Mag as a secondary gun for a while (I like them and Cockers about equally), and a kid at my feild let me take his Classic for a spin. I then proceeded to ask him if he had Lvl 10 yet. After he said no, I asked why not (yeah, I'm nosey), and he said because they don't work very well under 270 fps. So, I come here on AO, and sure enough, they don't. So now I'm thinking about not getting a Mag, since my feild's FPS limit is 225 (sucks royaly). This sucks, because as much as I have faith in the Mag, he was chopping about once every 2 games (12 vt Revy). Of course, he was using a standard feed body, which may have been the problem (he said he was also ordering a Warp to help the chopping problem, however, I really don't like 'em). I still want a Mag, but I'm very concerned whether or not it will be worth it for me or not since I can't use Lvl 10.

not work well under 270????? I play indoor at a field that has a 250 FPS, and I chrono in at 240, that makes me kind of second guess level 10, Do other people on here play at 250 FPS with level 10? and if so how does it work?

I've had people ask if my Minimag was automatic, but they have asked that about my Tippmann 98 too......

I remember one day when my mag actually was the most high performance gun in use for more than half of the games, not a cocker in sight, and one malfunctioning Impulse... that was a fun day. a standard AIR valve single trigger outshooting everything else on the field....

I can't wait until i get my warp, lol, that will be so fun to just walk around with

The field I play it has a 260 limit, so I chrono at 245-250 and my level 10 works just fine.

I go to alot of different fields so not many people know me. When i get there they uselly split the teams into even groups, after the games people come up to me and ask about the marker. They always bring up the mag rumors and i silence them, i give lvl 10 demos when they claim mags break paint. Im always freindly and helpful, ill uselly sit out a game or two fixing others guns and let them try mine. When we play after the first few games i get switched around alot as the refs see fit which is fine. More experienced players then me will give me complements and tips on how to improve and i will practice with the team that the field supports and there buddies, its uselly a blast and i get alot out of it.
Uselly when i go out to a big field in colorado i have a great time, partly because of my positive attitude helps keep other positive which makes the whole day better for everyone. I uselly leave with several phone numbers, emails and the field wants me to come play again.
I get alot of "The mag is on my team" and "i dont want to play against him" from the newbies.

Yeah 225 FPS sucks, lots of bounces . There is a place around here where the limit is 250 fps, but the feild isn't as nice and it's further away. LOL, last weekend, I got bunkered (I felt about four hits), and as I was leaving the feild, the ref asked me to turn around. So I was like "OK." After looking over me, I had zero breaks on me, after taking four shots being bunkered. Next time I'm going to check, but after taking four hits, I was almost positive one had to break.

Last time someone asked if it was a minimag, but he wasnt really a big newb, more of an educated one (but then again I had my emag body on so I could understand not understanding.. in fact, everyone was asking what kind of mag it was.. lol)
People were comlementing on my ROF (7-8 BPS on classic valve with benchy) and how well the gun fired and everything.
I'm going to get sooo much more crap with an emag..

usualy peopel are like yea what kinda gun u got( in school) I say an automag and they are like oh you have a n automatic? And i say no. Others just nod and say yes cuz they dont know what it is . havent been to ne fields but skirmish with it yet and i didnt get ne recognition form all the angel/ heavy moded spyder/tippman guys. Wait till i get my new tank and i rip at 15bps, then thell ask me.
