good point , i often thought that as well, how can they be markers...if anything the ball it's self is doing the marking...so instead of shooting paintballs we should technically be shooting markers if we were to be totally correct.....try telling some 1 you're shooting markers though. so i think paintballs are a fine term for them, even though they are doing the marking, therfore or the markers

How could a paintball marker not be considered a weapon? You can do damage with it and defend yourself. Heck, even a pillow would be a "weapon" in a pillow fight. =)

EDIT: Of course the paintball marker wasn't intended for self defense... oh well.

This is one of those never ending debates. where neither side is technically wrong. There are some few ppl to who the term might make a difference as to weather or not they play. there is an opposing extreme that will not not matter what we call them. To most ppl. it will make little difference.

SHartley, you've made your freakin point about AGD not calling them guns..several times.

But, Most other online stores and such call them guns. I call them guns. Thats what they are. You pull the trigger, and a projectile comes out of a metal tube called a barrel at high velocity, and you SHOOT at somebody.

What do those sites call them? There are more manufacterers(SP) that call them markers.

But, most(more than 75%) online stores, where the majority of the people look for paintball stuff, call them guns.

So, who is wrong now?

what about DYE? a leading manufacturer...look at their web site there's a tab "DYE guns" yes alot of manufacturers may call them markers, but really the only 2 i know that do are smartparts and AGD, every 1 else calls them guns.

but like every other smart young grasshoppers on this forum....WHO CARES! just play the game, have fun.
