The Emag is antiquated. I hope that's not true.
I tend to disagre with that one. I mean. In fact the concept of a Hybrid gun is far ahead of the curve. As far as its usefullness, its debatable. I sonetimes play maech to save on paint.

If anything the heart of the Emag, the valve, is fine where it sits. Its everthing else that needs to be refined.

I had the first version of the emag.

      The things I didn't like:

      1. weight and bulk - (dealt with by the ULE frame, ULD rail and x vale) FINALLY!!

      2. grip frame (smaller ULE frame, but still needs decent rubber grip panels)

      3. battery (size and weight of battery pack are fine, but mine wouldn't hold its charge from one weekend to the next) Really liked the way you can recharge just the battery w/out the marker

      4. rate of fire (not as fast as my angel - but apparantly addressed by the new 3.2 software).

      5. trigger (it FINALLY looks like there are finally after-market blade triggers here on AO)

It's been a long time in coming, but most of the short-comings that I encountered with the E-mag has been dealt with. This may be the year I return to an Emag.

the things I've always liked about the Emag:

      1. velocity - Most consistent marker I've owned (definitely better consistency than my Angel). I was worried about shootup before I bought it, but I never noticed any problems

      2. reliability - first rate, and easy to do self-maintenance (unlike many other electros). I wonder if LVL10 requires more care and fiddling.

      3. twist lock barrel - quick and easy to clean on the field.

      4. no chopping problem even without LVL10.

      5. barrel - best stock barrel ever

      6. customer service - the best I've encountered in the industry

1.) You'll just want an X-Mag so get the X-Mag to start with.
2.) It will give you an unfair advantage over the other players, which goes against your sense of fair play.
3.) You will become so good, your ego will grow alienating your friends.
4.) You will become so good, girls will want to have sex with you, your grades will suffer and you'll be forced to drop out of school.
5.) You will rely on the marker too much, causing your other skills to atrophy.

              AMEN brother.

              haha..

I could not agree more. While the external hose doesnt get in my way, it is NOT that pretty. Sometimes it gets in the when switching hands, but usually it is fine.

Also, I would love a pair of stickes on my emag. I know there are people making custom stuff, but a pair of stickies is what i want!

I actually prefer my line running straight into my valve. Its just out of the way, i guess. I run it back and up from my on/off to the back of my gun.

                  my problems with the e-mag
                  -overly wide trigger
                  -crappy grips
                  -on/off pin
                  -choping
                  -weight
                  -1.37 software

What I did to fix it?
-carve the trigger into a sexy smooth work of art
                  -custom fit dye stickys
-install a on/off switch and loose the yellow pin
-get a halo or level 10, or hell get both...
-get a ULE body, ULE rail, X-valve, cnc batt pack and ULE grip frame (lose the halo and get a revvy, and have a FRICKIN light gun that rips)
-upgrade to 3.2 IT ABSOLUTLY OWNS 1.37. when I had 1.37 i could only hit about 13-14bps even when walking and my board set to 16 max, now with 3.2 I can hit 17 consitently finally the gun is faster than my fingers!

From what I can see there's only 1 reason not to buy an E-Mag......they don't make em any more

Here is the short explanation. AGDE has taken a job to run the National Paintball Europe distribution center. They will still distribute our products but making bodies is not high on the list. They are machining the last of the extrusions so there will only be one more batch of about 50 xmags. Some people on the list will not get them, sorry I dont know what to say.

The Emag is going on 4 years old and is due for a complete revamp. We will be selling off the last of them (about 250) and discontinuing that product.

Now the bad news, with the current legal situations going on in paintball it is not strategicaly smart for us to invest in a new e-marker at this time. We are going to wait until the dust settles and see who comes out on top before we proceed with a new design.

We will work slowly on a new concept that will eliminate the large battery and charger, incorporate the ULT trigger system and completely new electronics. We don't expect to introduce this marker until 2005 if it makes sense to do so.

The point of all this is that we are making these decisions based on industry influences. Our customers have nothing to do with the products we do or don't develop these days. Think about it.
