Yes...I do actually remember the conversation we had and i understand that your deployment did complicate things greatly. Much like we discussed previously AGD needs to prop those that are still carrying the flag for them. I, as do many of my compatriots, feel that by flying someone out here from the Eest Coast to represent AGD they are in effect stabbing their dealers who work tirelessly to support a product that their own manufacturer feels no incentive to push.Originally posted by Army
Road Dawg and Dirty Bunny....name me ONE west coast AGD dealer that has shown absolute enthusiasm about coming out to this event, and repping not only their own products, but AGD stuff too?
Lessee....BREAKOUT PAINTBALL SUPPLY! They are a real AGD dealer, with real AGD items in their shop, and are real close by the event. They are the ONLY paintball shop worth a damn for nearly 200 miles around. They are supplying the airball fields, air, paint, parts, and tech help for....get this....THEIR OWN PRICE! They are LOSING money for this event, just so players can get a good deal, NOT BECAUSE AGD WILL BE THERE. Know what? They are totally jazzed that Tom will be there, and they couldn't care less that an AGD rep will be selling parts.
Are you forgetting me? Before I knew I was getting mobilized, I was the AGD representative for this event. I could have easily requested cases of parts to sell there. This was NEVER an AGD, nor AO sponsored event...still isn't. Would you guys be crying the same tune if I was selling my Emag or MiniMag and all my personal parts below dealer price? I am west coast, and I represent AGD too. I didn't hear any of this while I was at Pan-Am in Las Vegas...another non-AGD event. I didn't hear Jeff from Paintball Daddy complain about it once. In fact, he's only upset that he couldn't come up JUST to be there.
C'mon Bunny, we had this talk at Pan-Am, and all agreed that AGD needed more effort done out here on the west coast. But now that it is really happening, you want to whine about it.
Get over it already. ANYONE IS WELCOME TO COME, DEALER OR NOT, SELLING OR NOT. Besides, do you honestly know what price 'Tato will be selling these parts for? Dealer? Store? Ebay? Yard sale?
This was the brainchild of Zman, who has worked tirelessly to present to the west coast a fun time. I admire his tenacity, efforts, and belief in 'Mag owners in California..HOOAH.
Let's just play some paintball....Automag style
I have no problem with you representing AGD, but I think you have the situation incorrectly. What we have now would have been if you had been at Pan Am Las Vegas with a booth set up right across from PBDaddy's selling AGD product at event prices and undercutting Jeff in the process. That is our situation.
Is Breakout Paintball going to be at the event? and how do they feel about getting undercut by AGD's special (that nobody is supposed to know...but because of AO we all do) event pricing. Do they post on AO, visit events like the Paintball Expo or any of the local West Coast Tournament events...no...but there is a hardcore group of people here on the West Coast that do. I don't need to speak for them because I'm not their mouthpiece but this all does not add up.
As for Zman putting forth all the effort on this project; that only came about because certain people felt that their opinions superceded the desire of others who wanted to help out with this endeavor. I have already stated that I would like to be a part of the planning of the next "Cal MegaMeet" and would be forming an advisory panel to discuss our options for the next such meet.Last edited by DiRTyBuNNy; 01-11-2004, 10:49 PM.Comment

That's bull. What we have now would have been if you had been at Pan Am Las Vegas with a booth set up right across from PBDaddy's selling AGD product at event prices and undercutting Jeff in the process. That is our situation.
No dealer expressed any interest in this event.
Was anyone planning on coming and selling AGD product before I announced I was?
Let's face it, none of the AGD West Coast dealers cared enough to come in the first place.
If someone was planning on coming, and didn't say anything about it, how am I stepping on their toes by coming out to an event where no product would have been for sale in the first place?!
SC dealers haven't died because of SCAO 1 and 2.
NJ dealers are still doing ok after NJAO 1,2, and 3.
The same goes for all the other events where special pricing has been offered.

amen. AO events where AGD is represented ALWAYS bolster the image of the automag family in the eyes of the general paintball community. Tato's status as a factory-trained field tech for AGD and his ability to represent the company in a professional full-service manner can't be ANYTHING but a great benefit for all those involved.
DirtyBunny, you're a flaming retard. 'nuff said.

DB, after that whole video thing with you pointing at the garbage can and saying "This is NorCal," then not showing, I'd lay low if I were you. Seriously, how can anyone be upset at AGD coming out. Shoot, this is the sort of support we have been looking for. AGD selling at ONE event does not really constitute a pattern of competing with its dealers. Shoot, if anyone should be pissed it should be breakout, and its sounds like they are just plain happy that this whole thing is going down.
So, while we are playing, I leave you with these items to entertain yourself with:

I would just like to say for the record that this even was planned and organized by myself, Breakout paintball (Jon and Lew) Army, and Wil PURELY out of interest.
Breakout offered us the 3 airball fields, ripped out their compressor AND is supplying paint at little over cost SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY WERE EXCITED TO HELP OUT AN EVENT LIKE THIS. Jon and Lew check this site and are current on what is being done and changed.
None of us have made a dime off this and that is fine with me, I simply wanted to make a large-scale AO Day.
This event was known about by AO MONTHS before it happened. Anyone who wanted to come could have put it on their calendar WAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS TIME.
Potatoboy, TK and ANY OFFICIAL AGD presence arrived NOT BY MY PLANNING.
The thing that erks me a bit about this little tangent is that it's not the dealers complaining about AGD showing up. Jon from Breakout was STOKED that AGD would be there. Why does it seem to me that non-dealers are telling me that dealers are unhappy about this?
You dont even have to post on the public forum, you can PM or email. Are you dealers actually not-so-happy about this?Last edited by Z-man; 01-11-2004, 09:59 PM.Comment

I have been tempted to reply to many of these posts, including the good old garbage can video, but did not see a point. I still don't, but cannot help myself.Originally posted by DiRTyBuNNy

You sound like Oliver Stone. What "Certain people"? This is Zman's baby. It would not happened without him, period. He came up with the idea, got some support, and pursued it tirelessly - LONG before there was an AGD support, and it would still be going on without any AGD support because Zman got his BUDS to support it and then promoted it further to bring in Socal.
Desire of others? What others? I don't recall any previous effort to set up a socal/norcal meet. Want to plan one? Why don't you do like Zman and stick you neck out, talk it up, find a field, scout the land, etc..
Remember my post about the "next california tour for AGD?" I got hammered about "whining" for AGD to come out for our little event, and you were already *****ing about not being consulted. That was in November. Guess what? It is still happening, with plenty of input from everyone, and it is still NOT AN AGD EVENT, it is just a a bunch of people geting together to have a good time in the best way that could be arranged - BY ZMAN. We had our reservations in before the dealers, before AGD, and would still be there either way.
Give me a break. You remind me of the old men in the balcony on "The Muppets". Except they were funny.
Man, that is the first time I kicked in the asterisk machine. Got a little worked up.
Edit - in my haste, I forgot to mention the contributions of Army, Breakout, and everyone else that is working to make this event happen. Thanks for your efforts as well.Last edited by Aegis; 01-11-2004, 11:17 PM.Comment

When did this become a money issue? I thought the idea behind "AO Days" was for AO members to get together and play paintball.
I am not attending to get a deal on AGD parts, I'm going to play with AO members I might not normally get to play with.
I did not commit when the date was first selected because the majority of people who had committed from day one were the NorCal guys. I figured why drive 3hrs to play with the same guys I can play with at the field 10 min from my house.
Once some of the members from SoCal started to commit, and it got bigger, I figured this is going to be big, and I had to attend.
To be honest, I was really hoping to meet RogueFactor. Not to get a deal on his products, but to meet the guy who I have bought so much stuff from already. It's too bad he can't make it, but you have to take care of your responsibilities first.
Isn't this all kind of petty? Is it so hard to just come out and have fun? Why does there have to be ulterior motives?
Z-man, Army, Wil, and the guys at Breakout, no matter what anyone says the credit for this is all YOURS. I know for a fact that Covadsucks and I had thought about doing a NorCal vs. SoCal thing a LONG time ago, neither of us wanted to take on the responsibilty of tackling the logistics of it. I think you guys did a great job, everyone should be thanking you for your hard work, not whining over who is selling what.

Well thank you guys for all your positive feedback.
I would give a TON of the credit to the success of this event to both Army and Breakout for all their work and stuff they are brining: I think That this event could not have been NEAR the success without Breakout poping for 3 airball fields and a free compressor!
I wont repeat the obvious but we should all thank them out for making this AO Day big. Ill be out there Friday helping them set up the field in whatever way I can. MAJOR PROPS JON LEW, AND ARMY.
I am really looking forward to seeing you all out there!Comment
