You see that movie Last Samuri? If you did not it was one of those Braveheart-type movies. The good guys are super skilled and they SHOULD win, but the opposition has superior numbers and firepower.

You will notice that our US Forces apply the same logic. You don't see our naval ships protecting themselves with sniper rifles; they seem to like the Phalanx guns more
