thank you vash-ht I think you understand my frustration completely. I do think if they said hold tight for a while and we'll see what we can do i would feel as though they are at least making an effort even if it was on a back burner. but as of right now it's just a solid NO

law don't see it as an argument. Look at it more like group therapy

I wasnt trying to flame the tourny guys (alls I play is tourny). But I was merely stating the facts. I look at everything from a business standpoint (marketing major) and I was simply stating what I saw from my experiences. Sorry if I offended anyone. I wasnt glorifying the scenario player, but the fact is that is like 99% of the business.

Im gonna vent a little here. I love paintball to death. But how things are done is just plain stupid. A large company like National wants to market their hot new paint thrower by GIVING away hundreds of them (yes hundreds of them) to teams. Thats cool if they wanna do that (its great for the teams) but honestly, isnt their a better way to market your stuff? Ask Glenn Palmer what he thinks of sponsorship, and be prepared for his response.

I read a post made by TK saying that paintball companies no longer have a choice in what they make, and he hit the nail on the head. If I had ten million dollars to design and build a marker that would turn the paintball world on its head, I sure as hell wouldnt do it. Lets say I did build my super marker. What would I have to consider in building my gun? First off, it would probably infringe on the SP patent, so I would have to raise my price. Then, I would have to make be able to shoot at least twenty balls a second, but capable of soooo much more. Oh, and it cant break paint, even if I have a few bad balls in ever pod. Oh, it has to be ultra light weight, and super gas efficient. However, by far the most important thing I have to do for my gun is make it look cool. Because, since im just giving these guns away to teams, I have to design multiple mill patterns that do nothing for the guns preformance. Did anyone notice I said "give them away"?

Oh, and by the way, those teams that Im giving my super markers to? They will wipe as many hits as they can get away with, they will full auto 18 balls a second into the air when five or six will suffice, they will scream at refs who are only doing their job, they will throw my super markers into the air or find some other way of breaking them (thats cool, Ill just give em another) and in general act like fools. Will this reflect on me in any way? Probably not, cause I will just give my gun to like 20 other teams. You get the idea.

There are pro players out there that will give you 3 jerseys when you ask for one, who will give you advice on snap shooting drills, who will encourage you to be a better player. Those guys are awesome, and if it werent for them there would be less kids aspiring to play at a higher level. But I can see why AGD dosent wanna try to corner the tourney market. Cause the market is f'ed up. Peace

Pinto's are still kind of cool and collectors now. Yeh I remember them.
Tom I think you might have miss understood my earlier post. I didn't ask for full auto. I asked for some more speed. I can talk till I'm blue in the face to these younger guys at the field telling them how great a mag is and they still buy the other brand because they are faster. Granted they are throw aways in my book, but they are silly faster and upgradible to be even faster, though it isn't leagal per the rules. Sure you can change the look of the mag drasticly, but you are stuck with the cap on performance. I'm thinking if one were to close the gap to be quicker without full auto, mags would be on the (in) again in that market. Come on man, some don't even know what a mag is!!! I fondly remember the days when people used to run in fear of my classic RT. Now they laugh at my 3.2 Emag! It's kinda like having a Pinto and wanting a Mustang while the Camero guy laughs at yeh. Differance being a Pinto can be upgraded to a V-8. Granted you didn't make it this far without a little caution, but there comes a time where playing it safe is going to cut it. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe. I'm only relaying what I see from the trenches and I see a steady decline in mag populaity. This sickings me! I will still promote AGD at all costs free of charge cause I believe in the mag, but I could use some help here.

I don't get the "my emag isn't fast enough" thing

My emag is ungodly fast, and I don't want a ramping board.
the gun will shoot faster than you can pull it. so I don't see the problem

the problem is they need to enforce the rules of the sport and start penalizing the players with cheater boards, it is not safe and all it is going to take is one lawsuit and the leages are going to be in a pile of trouble along with the manufacturers working outside the astm standard

not change the rules to suit the cheaters because enforcing them would be too tough

to be honest do we need faster markers? if the manufacturers all held up there end of the agreement (like tom) the answer would be no because all the markers would be on atleast a semi level playing field.... the problem is everyone is looking for that edge and who cares if we have to cheat to get it?

I care and if you see me at a tournament you will see me there with my emag

don't get me wrong I LOVE TECHNOLOGY and I love to set my pandora board in the viking
on uncapped autoresponce and get bragging rights at the chrony but I will never shoot it in a game like that because I don't need some one getting hurt and suing my ***....

there is a kid at my local field that has a intimdator that has a cheater board that ramps DWELL!! and he brags about it because he bought it for X pro player from X team and they are all using these boards and it is sooo coool how stupid did the designer of the board have to be to release that? somone IS GOING TO GET HURT and bad times WILL COME FOR THIS SPORT I hate to see it happen but it will

the astm standard is there for a reason, to protect the manufacturers working within its limits

sorry about the long post but this has been burning me up for a while

oooh that gun is sooooo slow,,,,,,, no it is leagle

Do you still have your SFL?

I want one bad, but I will probably never have one. I do love my emag though. 3.2 is fast enough. If you want some silly fast electro mag action, I would look into a devil mag, Im looking at one of those myself (expensive though, but maybe worth it)

Hmm, to tell you the truth, if 3.2 is as good as you say it is i wont mind it. But the picture i hear is that 4.x beats the pants off of it.

Now, I just traded my imp with Was for an emag. I know ur all going to say imma a cheater and s***, but it can be set up so its legal and i had it that way. I have to say tho, from the stock cricket board t the equalizer there was a huge difference, the cricket liked to skip a lot of shots being pulled it seemed like, and the microswitch is crap on it. I know the emag doesnt use a normal switch, so basically as long as 3.2 reads every pull, and has a decent cap on it, im happy.

                            ....

I never shot an impy with WAS, but from what I understand it turns it into a timmy (ramp like). I think all WAS boards do that. I think Jim Drew wheres underware that says "Ramp This!" Who knows. And who cares, hes a tool anyways

actually, was boards dont have ramp on em, i think a lot of ignorant people listen to the bad hype people surround them with. they do bounce more than most boards, but that just means you have to turn up the debounce higher, mine was on like 24. ramping and bouncing are two totally different things.

Im just kidding, I know the difference. My timmy bounced like mad when I got it. Im actually gonna get rid of the timmy. If I was gonna keep it, I would put a frenzy board in it
