why is the ion so popular?

IMO The ION is like the Honda Element of markers... it performs well and is a competitor for comfort and it runs well. HOWEVER, it is one of the ugliest POS's ever to hit the market... honestly, it looks like SP went through some old catelogs, found a small, sleek frame, threw some plastic on it, and called it a day

The grip and everything just feels good in your hands, get a new ASA, feedneck, trigger, and barrel. That's it.

It is a random guess. I mean come on. Do you think you are going to get more mileage out of a honda or a yugo.

The honda, you know why because there was more care taken to build it and they used better quality parts in them. How long did most yugos last? a couple of years. I mean it is a known fact that cheaper made parts don't last as long as ones that a little more care was taken to make. I am not saying the guns are bad in amy way. I have shoot a couple and they shoot very sweet. I am just curious to see what happens when they start tearing up and people have to buy 100 dollar solenoids for a 300 dollars gun. That is all.

I'd be careful posting anything as FACT when you have no idea it is so. There is an entire industry built (pun!) around taking existing manufacuring processes and making them more efficient and cost-effective. "Cheap" has nothing to do with "care", so you have yet to make a valid point. Out of curiosity, does anyone know what other products use the same solenoid found in the ION?

Besides, I have blowbacks (and even my old PGP) that are more reliable than any $500+ marker I've bought. My roommate's Saturn is just as reliable as any car that costs up to 50X the price of his. His Saturn is more reliable than the more expensive piece of German engineering I used to own.

IONS are popular because they are made by SP and not AGD. you can pick up a magazine and see the ION. People don't even know that mags stil exist. AGD is broke, they can only afford to keep the lights on in the building. I bet they don't even turn a nominal profit. I bet the new owner has another primary job and AGD is his toy.

Once the parts are gone so is AGD. Better Hope Tuna man has enough to last you the rest of your life. I will keep on buying hte next new thing.

Excuse me? My Ion cost me $335 from the local shop, with a cp trigger and QEV.
This thing shoots like a dream, stock barrel is a perfect match for the blaze we use here. My egg fits perfectly in the feedneck, doesnt come out, and sits pretty low. Hell, it gets me lots of attention on the feild, yes I am that shallow.

Better than a T-boarded spyder? Yes. I'd say yes it is a $300 high end gun, bb eyes, 17bps, no need to buy another chip for ramping, small, light.

everyone one likes them because to me it has ramping and all the kids feel soo cool shooting 17bps. i seen little kids with their ions saying ooo they the best and look at me shooting 17 bps. they are really nice guns. i love mine but i love mine for a fun gun and because its a low operation presure gun soo i can save on air. to me its fast enough in semi.

when im playing i dont lay down paint unless im going to move or if somones rushing somone and you jest need to lay it down. other than that i shoot my gun as fast as a pump gun.

really sometime soon smart parts is going to make an other gun thats different or has same looks as a other gun but try to make it better.

also everybody knows about smart parts and everyone belives that they make the best guns. and yes i think they make some good stuff but because everybody knows them everybody has to have a gun jest like somone eals's.

really if you ask some kid with a smart parts gun and all that kid talks about is smart parts and ask him who makes blazers or stockers or who makes vikings or mags they will not know you are talking about.

soo its all about advertising.

if agd made a new or different type of gun. like the pune mag and addvertise it good like smart parts and show how fast the are without batteries and if its a low price like 350 ? and also advertise level 10 and show how you dont need eyes. if that happen everybody will know about them and want one.

I find it mildly amusing that 12 year olds these day are so vastly more capable of working a computer these days than 12 yesr olds in my day...yet they use these powers to steal music, movies, and circumvent ban lists.
