    Overshot...

I've had some issues with overshot complaints... and on a semi-related story, when i bought a nitro tank off my friend, he wanted 75, but the deal was every time he shot me from 10 feet away (shirtless) i would get a dollar taken off... i only paid $25...... I thought the field owner was gonna kick us out when he saw me walk onto the airball field shirtless and take 50 ish rounds in the back

Remember to be a man when you overshoot me or someone I just introduced to paintball. Don't be a crybaby. The pain will go away and you'll eventually be able to eat solid foods again. A few bonus balls may be part of the game, but if you shoot someone 15 times you have to know that they might not appreciate it so much, especially when their hands are up and they're walking off the field.

last time i played i got shot out, as im leaving the bunker i get plunked in the pack once. Some guy from the sideline starts screaming at some kid " WTH ARE YOU DOING OVERSHOOTING HIM" and more people "OVERSHOOTING OVERSHOOTING" the kid walks up to me and is like "I'm so sorry for overshooting you, sorry man."

I was totally confused. I got hit one extra time as I was walking out in the pack....and I didn't even flinch or say anything, in fact i was expecting to get hit walking out its part of the game. I guess things have changed around the field. I had to go over to the kid and say that he didn't overshoot me and that is no big deal.

The thing that REALLY needs to stop is these adultish aged players who think they are pro. When they get shot or think they shot some average player they throw this huge cussing, shooting their gun fit. I see this everytime i go play, midplay older guy yells to some kid that he's out blah blah....but theres no mark on the kid. Later the older guy gets shot and then runs down the field just shooting his gun at the kid yelling he wiped. Its like they got some super ego that makes them think that theres no way someone can shoot them out.

For me, it depends on alot of factors...

If I am playing a first timer on a speedball field, and he is the only one left, and I run to get him, I'm going to do my best to 'one ball' him. The guns now a days are so fast, that after you stop walking, you just may have some extra balls flying out... If I'm playing someone of equal or higher skill level, I play the game right. I don't bonus ball, but i don't one ball.

I always tell those losers "This is paintball, if you don't want to get shot, why the hell did you come here?"

Damm right, thats what is a disgrace. the guys, men? that throw FITS, having cows over a couple of extra balls, in a fight situation that is heated and exciting. Please be a man. Just walk off the field and try to swallow the idea that s-it happens. but be men.

the kids getting in the sport for the first time, or looking to get in the sport, or worst, the parents who are here to see if this is a sport for their kids to try out, see the IDIOTS, the A--HOLES, the crybabies screaming, yelling, swearing, throwing fits over a few harmless balls, well they will never let their kids play.

this is the recipie for the demise of the sport. WE ARE THE SPORT. WE ARE WHAT THEY SEE OF THE SPORT.
              WE NEED TO REPRESENT.

on both ends, dont bother shooting back about being the overshooter, it DOES work both ways, I know. But the parents are in the parking lots, the reporters are in the parking lots waiting to see the show of idiots. walk off and make a complaint, if need be, calmly, to the field owner, follow through peacfully.

See what you are describing doesn't seem to be overshooting.
For me over shooting is when after I have raised my gun, yelled 3 times that I am out, and stand to walk off thef field and get 5 to 10 balls hit me after the fact. If I get bunkered 4 to 5 balls whatever it is part of the game but a little trigger control when you know you got me would be appreciated. I've been to fields where these guys would wipe and cheat and then if they could blindside you would empty hoppers into you. that is over shooting. If I have someone clear in my sights usually 3 shots will do. Then again I'm more known for my surrendering of opponents than anything else.

I gues i am gettingthe answers i needed. The guy in question was FREAKING out with a 4 shot welt. nothing more than any speedballers get on a good day. somthing i like to show my friends and my wife. but he quit and went Ape Balls over it...

This Team, the one i have been talking about, needs to ensure that they are producing/Projecting a more POSITIVE Role in the sport...

I think if a ref should pull anyone if they overshoot on purpose. That cures most problems real quick.

the problem there is it can be difficult to tell if someone is blatantly overshooting (short of a stream following a player off the field).

Something similar happened to my team during practice this weekend. afterwards, one player made the statement that if you hold in your hands a gun that can easily shoot 13-18 balls per second, that you shouldn't complain of being overshot. It comes down do being able to dish it out but not taking it.

I've complained about being overshot, i even took it farther than i should have, and am gratefull for not quite (but very near so)divine intervention. Now this happened during a practice for a tournament.

Should it happen it recball? no, but it does. Why? because faster is always better, at least in the ads

It's an unfortunate byproduct of speedball, and something that will surely be debated as paintball moves into the future.

The problem with this statement is that 80% of the time, over shooting, is not intentional. It is the game. the definition of over shooting needs to be more clear, at times too. 3, 4, 5 balls to get a guy out, is the game. If they don't move off in a timely fashion, 8,9,10 with get them moving. Once they are out, and they call themselves out, then the shooting ends. if they walk into the firefight to exit the field, or you run off without your condom on-gun up-waving your hands, well you get hit, WWAAAAA...

It is harsh, but what makes it OK for speed ball, and not OK for Rec ball/Woods ball? The woods ball scene is getting more and more competitive and we are going to bring it.

I know there are kids out there and WE are the first to run with them and cover them, and have their back. but with other teams, that are supposed to be as competitive as we are? Well, it was a Joke.

The only time I get overshot is when I am being bunkered or do something insane like running the tape all the way off the break, but that was fun for a min.... I dont get overshot very often, the people I play with are honest, and as soon as I get hit, I feel for the shot, and if its all gooey, I pull myself, no problems... EVER!!

played x ball yesterday, got overshot quite a bit (definately had to do with the PSP/NXL modes) but, yeah, probably didnt walk off the field with less than 10 hits in any given game, but, i only heard one guy complaining, and that was when he got lit up by a guy after the buzzer had gone off for the game to end. Will mabey take a pic of my back if i dont stay lazy today, lots of welts (walking off field), and, espicially concidering that a good part of my back is covered by a pack

Yea, how was that game, Eric? I wish I could have made it. Darn work

Yea, overshooting and people and stuff suck.
It's just part of a game untill people whine too much, or overshoot too much. Then it's annoying. But I think we've all come to accept we're gonna get bonus balled.
