What do you mean a 6 year old shouldn't be playing paintball.. My monster is actually playing for the first time today... took 6 months to force all of the "saftey first" rules into his head.. I have some great short clips of him "walking the trigger" on a paintball gun at IAO... Had the most perfect stance.. (better then me). gotta love that.

edit: Stupidest question I ever asked was 10 minutes before my first tourney I picked up a gun for the first time ans said "so is anyone gonna show me how t work this thing before I go on the field" So it began the addiction...

wow for all you guys bashing this thread wouldnt it be better just not to post in it so it doesnt stay in the first page so ppl dont see it.

But here is a story about a guy who has been playing for a couple of years now. He is fairly used to Angels and has used my setup before. But in the last tournament we had he used my gun and starts the game, makes it to the 50 easily. Once there he shots two balls and the gun wont fire after that. Calls put down gun and gets shot fairly fast, comes to me telling my gun is busted. I check it and turn on the air and rip off 10 shots.

Reminded him about the pregame check, "hopper on, air on, gun on, game on."

I've been playing outlawball for a year and a half now. The people I play with consider me like an anti noob. I know more about their guns than they do.

One day my friend and I had our guns laid out on towels, cleaning them and a kid(about 10 I would say) came up and said, "why did you take your gun apart. How do you know how to get it back together." We then explained that we were taking our guns apart to lube them, and why we lube them. Then we told him we knew how to get them back together because we had taken them apart so many times in the past.

Sadly I am still a noob. All I know about is how mech guns and sear trippers work. Everybody likes playing with me because I carry tools and spare orings/hoppers so everybody can keep playing. When I play my first real speedball game(organized) I think I will get to decide just how noobish I am.

          newb stuff

          A couple stories...

My friend...once I was laying with this guy and we were on a ridge behind some trees...the other team was across the way. Just as the ref blew the whistle for the game to start, my friend accidentally pulled his trigger and shot this kid on our team in the a$s. It was so awesome funny that I almost had to call myself out. The kid just looked back, looked at his a$s, looked at my friend, and said, "What the hell man? What'd ya do that for?" I was hilarious.

Me...well, I'm technologically chalenged and mechanically challenged. The first time I took my Spyder apart, when I put it back together it wouldn't work. I actually took it into the paintball store and after a week and $15 the diagnosis was that I put the bolt in backwards.

Also, when I first bought an HPA tank I went in to get it filled and the guy said he'd fill it with compressed air and I said, "No, it's a nitrogen tank...not compressed air."

Sounds like a similar experience I shared with another newblet.

We were out at Velocity in SoCal, and myteammate Jeff brought along a bewie friend.
            Thiskid was 14, and 6'7.
I'm 6'3, and he towered over me.
So we're playing some concept field ball (hyperball with the standup tubes) and I tell him, right off the break, do NOT right directly in front of my lane.
He nods in agreement, as Jeff told him of my fingers.
Off the break, he runs right in front of me, and I put at ELAST 15 into the back of his head.
He was none to happy with me.

Im playing in the woods with about 10 guys, and this little kid comes with this guy, i guessed it was his first time playing, he had 5 layers of clothes on in the middle of summer.

Well anyways he was in a fire fight with about 5 people and yelled "TIME OUT" and we just looked puzzeled and then he popped back out behind a tree and starting shooting us, then we lite him up. And he just complained the whole day.

The dumbest thing I ever did when I was a newb. I had a SpyderTLPlus and we had just finished a game of CutThroat and the thought hit me, is my safety on or is it not on. So I played a little game with my feet. I pointed the barrel at my foot and slowly squeezed the trigger cause I had a feel for the marker and it would only go so far if the safety was on but it wasn't and I shot my foot twice . My foot was all blue, we never checked the velocity of our markers so I'm guessing I was shooting at 340-360.
That same day I was introduced to the 68Mag it ROCKED MY FACE!

                      I forgot about this one...

The first time I ever played paintball...EVER...my friend tells me that it hurts really bad when you get hit, so wear padded clothing. I decide that I would go one step further...so I took sheets of bubble wrap and clear packing tape and procedded to tape the bubble wrap around my legs and torso. My friend walked ito the living room and I was standing in my underwear with packing materials taped to me. He laughed so hard that I thought we would need to take him to the hospital.

After the first game and a half...I had to literally undress, rip all that packing material off, and redress because even though it wasn't a really hot day...bubble wrap insulates you like MAD and there were buckets of sweat dripping down my legs and the bubble wrap kept sliding around.

My friend continues to bring that story up everytime we start telling stories about each other...it's funny because I keep forgetting that it ever happened...then boom...out it comes and I have to relive my embarrassment.
