Most over-hyped gun?

Lets not forget the hAir trigger automag as being one of the most hyped items I've yet seen on AO, made worse by the fact that it never actually came out.

Most under hyped: The Viking is all I can think of now, but hence the under hype!

I guess the X was just overhyped here on AO, because when I used one I was not impressed. A good gun, but just not as good as people here made them out to be. A nice $700 type gun, not $1400!

It is important to choose a gun that impresses you. That's what most people do.

The X sure looks nice! But I couldn't pay like $900 extra for style(compared to an Emag), I hate when any marker company does that! (and lots do it)

Under-rated: Older Angels, and anything ICD.

i think cockers are vastly under rated. mine can keep up with any other non ramping semi, and is the most accurate gun ive ever shot

cockers are not any more accurate than any other gun. You have bought into the hype and that is the exact reason that they are overhyped. .

Hey fine whatever.. but I know 7 (yes SEVEN) stock shockers that all went back to SP within 4 uses. SP then had the balls to try to get the owners to fork over $120 each for their "Gold Plan" to get their guns bumped to the top of the waiting list. 5 of those players switched to DM4's. Im not sure about the others.... Im sorry, but that is just an aweful track record. I more than anyone know that stuff-happens, but to shell out top-dollar for a marker than to be told that they had to wait an extended period of time unless they shelled out another $120 is extortion.

And what does accuracy have to do with what we were talking about? I thought the topic we were on was mechanical failure? (Or electrical)

Dude as many have said before just want to repeat. marker accuracy depends almost exclusivaly on how the ball reacts to a specific barrel. Only time this is not the case is if a marker is having a severely bad fluctuation on air or if you have an excessive rate of fire that is making your marker vibrate or kick.

That being said I love all three of my autocockers (sorry two of my autocockers) one is a ccm and that is not offically an autococker even though everything is nearly identical. They are some of the funnest guns to play with if for no other reason than you can see the actual actionn of the marker.

Also, lets get something straight.. anyone who has ANY clue about thier marker will be able to get it to shoot accurately. ANYONE, ANY HIGH END MARKER. PERIOD.

Ive seen at least 3 kids this year alone with high end $1000 guns that had no clue how to use them. These are the same players that buy the $25 white case paint, have six different colors of goo dripping out of their barrels at any time. AND will be the first ones to get on PBN and cry about how their markers SUCK.

OverHyped - New DM6/DMC matrix. A great gun, but not worth the MAP price. The PM5/Minion are basically identical and much more apropriatly priced.

UndeRrated - Mags in general. Nobody respects just about any marker older than 3 years old for some reason, especially a 15 year old design.

OverRated - I gotta go with *gasp* pneumags. Yes they are fast, yes they are wicked for a mech marker, and they certainly carry a rare/cool factor. But what most people don't realize is that their owners are proud of them because it is thier creation. It is just like any other High end marker without firing modes or eyes, except a tad bit pricier at the end of the day. Owners love them and show them off because of their intrinsic value - "hey, I made this..."
However, for the price, there is definately competitive options (Matrixes, shockers, timmies, etc) It's really a pride thing, kinda the same idea as AKA owners.

/although maybe cause i've built about 10 of them and they no longer carry that intrinsic value

Underrated...
Quest and stock egos cause the shoot the same as the others. and if you really want, get the bolt in the high end ones for $50

Over rated: Ions, nuff said
Under rated: Classic mags and trilo cockers. The high end trilo is actually a pretty good rec gun. I don't know why everybody hates them.
