Oh, I was only going to put something about the conflict of interest that exists on that forum, and ask Kai to remove himself as moderator of that forum in the spirit of impartiality. I was also going to back up your observation regarding his rant against your post, but his claimed ignorance of the other posts.

BTW, I don't know if you noticed, but some of them are still bringing your name up in other posts. So much for the "maturity" of that forum.

Well, I did get a reply from James. It's more than I expected. He says it was poking fun at "gansta" paintballers. I get the impression he expected everyone on that forum to get the joke. I still think it's wrong and he should remove it, but at least he gives an explaination.

why do we have paintballs called evil, and gear and diablo?

thi is what i got into with my field owner lately about the iamge of companies and the sport as a whole.


if your kid played soccer would you let him go out and buy a $60 soccerball called a decapitator?..maybe thats a bad example but you get what i mean.

i feel like a dork i guess but i think the image should be more whole some and companies/incividuals need to be more careful adn considerate of what they put oout to the public, cause as i said wether they think it is or not IT IS contributing to the image in oen way or another.

on a sidenot we dont get diablo/evil paint etc since we have alot of churchgroups etc at our field and we realy on them coming back and not being offended

I got a PM too, which was nice, though the gist of it was "I'm sorry you feel that way, but you are wrong." Oh well. I'm sure he'd love the publicity if a newspaper caught wind of that picture, and associated it with the recent death of the student who was wielding the airsoft gun. It's times like this that I REALLY start to miss the likes of Tom Kaye, and regret that his peers, like Glenn Palmer, will not be around forever. Too bad company reps seem to be less interested in the good of the industry as the whole, and instead focus on scoring points with their "st8killa macdev militia assasins."

I love how the mods side with each other too. I guess they really think their status over there means something. Being a mod seldom has anything to due with maturity or common sense, and usually everything to do with favoritism and cronyism.

Seriously though, I hate getting into PC debates, but as a player, what do I care what a church group thinks of my balls?

If I'm a field owner in the bible-belt or something, sure I may use Marbalizers or (insert inoffensive brand name here), but would the players rather be offended and have a greater choice or pay more? That's the question in my mind anyways... The brands are already out there. If they're that easily offended, let their dollars do the talking by not supporting the offensive products.

im a ref/and i help with running the field alot, and i agree as a player there is 0 reason to care. other than maybe wanting to keep the sport family friendly and tame for the most part.

and in msot cases it doesnt amtter since open play/regualrs are seperate from the newbs/private groups, however the store/paint etc is the same for all so a balance must be found.

we have an x-ball field and gave the banenrs since we thought it was abad idea to have "EVIL" banners on the field

its all about image, wether you believe it or not groups see those things(mainly the leaders) and the word "evil" leaves an impression and it can turn some off

while we dont depend on them 100% by any means it is still income, and makeing 2-3(of 20+) more groups happy is worth more than selling stuff that says evil so 1-2 individuals can get some "evil"gear"

i guess the whole "image " thing is a different topic kidna so i mgiht amke a different thread for that later, and i would like to know what most people think on the subject.
