What about an "all Mechanical" tournament" on Sunday? Pre Registration required, No entry fee to take place in the tourney, no prizes, just fun (and bragging rights)!

I can have my team "Chicago Conmen" run/ref the tourney.. we won'tcharge anything, we'd do it to support Fox River games and AO
We can do that, however, it would have to be reserved for the players that register for the AO Private Game only. They would still have to pay the $20. Its basically like having one person in the AO group take the players that want to run a MINI Tourny and run it, while someone else takes the rest of the AO players into the woods for more woodsball.
I know Tim wont allow anyone to run any type of tournament at the field that allow players from outside the Private Game, or any hard core tournament that is not an organized event.
Do a little more work on it and let me know when its more organized. There will be plenty of Re's forthis Private Game so breaking the players into two groups shouldnt be a proble, The only problem that may come up will be field availability. May is a hot month for Private Games and Team Practice is also on Sundays.

Now on that same note, how bout Pneumatics vs Electronics? I know who would win.

You mentioned something earlier about turning on the lights...? Maybe that would be the time to do it and avoid field problems? Also, I dont think anyone is suggesting anyone but people in the group. As for organization, there wouldn't be too much, just see who wants to play on the day of the event and go from there, assuming there is something worked out for field availability. A couple refs and bingo. Round robbin with one game playoffs. simple and shouldn't take too long. piece of cake. Or simpler yet, just do a double (or single) elimination bracket. That would be interesting....Like march maddness

This tourney would Definately be for AO private gamers only. And I have no problem with it being in the woods if we cant get a hyper or airball field reserved for it.
It's all for fun so people can't be too "particular"

I think Aggravated Assault has the best idea for the tourny play. Lets keep that part of the days events reserved for night play at the ULTIMATE AIRBALL field under the lights on Saturday night. We dont open up the night play to anyone until June, so the field will be available to play on.
Reffing wont be a big deal. Im sure we can find a few "Impartial" judges to Ref it. Whenever camping is involved at the field, we always have Staff camp over at the field too. This keeps everyone where they should be and so things dont get out of hand. The regular Woodsball play would stop when Fox closes for the day, but the lit up speedball field is definitely in play. If you havnt played under our "Temp lights", be sure to bring a yellow or amber lense, it helps tremendously.
Keeping all players together at all times will be a plus in keeping this organized. I have no problem if players want to split and do half woods/half speedball, as long as their with a Ref and everyone knows whats going on. We just cant have "Rogue Players" off playing by themselves.
So play all day in the woods on Sat, tourny style on speedball on Sat night, some kind of an organized meal on Sat night, breakfast Sun morning, and play a MINI Scenario and woodsball all day Sunday. Sounds good so far, lets keep this party rollin. Whos booking the band??(And no, I never mentioned strippers, however...)

Restrictions on the sound level and how late they play, but we can still have a band. The Sheriff has a house on the other side of the river. Cool guy, but doesnt like all night parties.

Arw we actually serious here? Geting things together for everything else should be a lot on the plate already...

But, If you are serious, I might be able to help out in that department. You could even PM me if you want.

(OK, now back to more serious subjects)

Were not getting a big response for this event. I posted this all over the web, and at the Fox Field last weekend. Alot of players at he field liked the idea, ive got a couple of e mails, PM's, and phone calls, but neither DevilSpawned or myself have had any players give us a definite yes or no. And nobody has pre registered for the event yet.
I know its early, but unlike a Tournament or a Scenario game, we need pre registered players or the event wont take place. At least a better response wouldbe appreciated. It seems that once we finally decided on a date, everyone stopped responding.
Heres where were at; We need a minimum of 25 pre registered players. The more players we get, the more we can do for the event. Were putting a pre registration deadline for Tuesday, May 15th.
It doesnt get any cheaper than this folks. $20.00 per day, $10 for Sat night pizza & Sun morning breakfast, possibly a band, special woodsball games on Sat, Free 4 All tourny under the lights Sat night for fun, and all day play Sunday with a MINI Scenario game. To top it all off, its a BYOP event AND Fox will be offering special paint discounts for all pre registered players.
If you have your own paint, then were looking at $50 for two days, and that includes 2 meals.
Tell me what more we need to get 100 AO players for this, and ill try to make it happen.
                            LETS GO, CHOP CHOP.

I think that the idea is really good, and people will show up for the event....But there may not be that many AO players here in illinois...I dont even know if there are even 25 active AO paintballers in all of illinois...hopefully im wrong
