AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
The on/off doesn't have that kind of raw airflow. Think of the dumpc hamber as a an electrical capacitor but for air. It stores buit up air to release all at once - kind of like trying to run a pancake noid off a stright 9v. That was the idea behind the MQ mag valve - because the MQ was really one of the first valves that could deliver that kind of flow your thinking of.
Great idea, but the mag valve would need designed for better flow delivery. Although the way the retro delivers air, it may be possible without total redesign (but some nevertheless). And the point Jay makes is that if your going to design something new, just invent a whole new gun to free yourself from the Mag's restricting platform, unless you really want the new gun to look like a mag. New design in an old platform is a waste of money and wasted effort.
YOu are right about that Pneumagger, but I am afraid that redesigning a mag with a new valve, lighter parts and electro pneumatic function would end up pretty much being an ION.
There is a reason I shoot a mag and not an Ion and that is because I have an Xvalve. I wouldn't trade an Xvalve for an Ion even if they added cash.
(There is nothing wrong with an ION, other than the fact it is made with inferior material. If it was made with quality parts and material it would be a DM)
I know you are going to scoff at that, but its a spool valve such as the DM is. Difference is the material used.
The new mag should have the DROP in Valve capability of the Automag series of markers. Again I think Electro is the only way to go, what is wrong with the way the EMAG trigger uses a halls to make the shot (to top it off you dont have to deal with certain companies with patents)

I agree. The problem with the ION is the quality control of SP. You can build an ION now without even using a SP part. It's electro, has eyes, is light, not very noisy, very reliable (with an exception), and small. It's a nicely designed marker, with a major flaw or two. You can't clean out a breech break very easily and tearing apart the marker is a pain. The major flaw being that you MUST touch the board everytime you want to clean the top half the of the marker. More battery wires and the such have busted off the board, because it has to be moved whenever you tear down the marker.
Considering that the pump market is on an up swing as of late and there are very little out there in the way of choice... Its Phantoms , Carters, or custom (Ghosts, DIY snipers, PPS, and smaller shops like me, pun , rainman , ect... )
I think they can capatilize on this market by remaking the pump mag.. hell why not Id buy one

lol I forgot about the MQ valve, even still I woulden't mind seeing one.
BB eyes
Board selection (Lets say it would accept dm boards for example)
Dual Detents
One peice body/rail design
Swappable breaches
Cocker threaded
Microswitch (Hall is fun and all, but I still prefer microswitches)
The Emag Hump.
9Volts
I would have to disagree on that one. Many people are running Warp body and Q-loader setups, myself included. I absolutely love that Mags are the only marker that lets you have a clear line of sight across the top. I think it would be a huge feature to have swappable breaches like an X-mag.
True but if you show someone in the general community 1 gun that cost 299 with a standard breach and 1 that is 349 with a modular breach, I can almost guarantee how much gun #1 will out sell gun #2. Now I'm just making up numbers so I dont know how much the modular thing would add to the cost. But it does cost more to design, build and harder to maintain specs during new batches
Just like everyone else!! Less weight and no visible air lines, all air should run through grip and rail to make it even lighter. Since we are talking about marketing to kids to make money. Smaller grip size for electro, and smaller battery pack I agree with 9 volt usage. Maybe even no battery pack, and put battery in one pc rail body. NO PLASTIC that will break. Carbon fiber if not aluminum. If electro, waterproof for woodsballers. I know that looks are what sell but I'm in for function. Just my thoughts on the matter.
Ditch the interchangable breaches. A breakbeam system is sooooo much more useful and the two are damned near mutually exclusive unless you want to give up the bb's for warp breach use or take it apart to switch the breach and the eyes.....
cocker barrel
electronic. forget mech-only operation. also, have all the modes available everywhere else.
clamping feedneck stock
internal air routing
If not uni-body then at least a matching body/rail of the same material.
magnetic trigger possible? (IDK never tried/saw one)
Change the Body for a "shorter looking" body, looks sell.
Board/Battery in Frame, with updated Boards available. i.e Virtue, Tadao, etc.
clamping feedneck
Break Beam eyes w/ covers
if you could get rid of the sear somehow, you'd be able to thin down the rail making it a bit more compact, which is, it seems, what the current consumers are looking for. Light, fast, and small.
i say rail body combined like micromag but ule i say smallest lightest body rail combo
pre drilled for eyes comes with eye plates
option between mech or e hybrid(like emag)
trigger frame really isnt a problem i would say something that everything can fit in no foregrip for battery or lpr or w/e
cocker threaded angel neck
board stock board capped at 15 with eyes off and unlimited eyes on and cfoa
nice trigger upgrades but as for stock something that is cheap and non plastic(pmr ion triggers bad)
a problem i see is offereing to many options to order i say put a gun out and then let people upgrade that not put the bestest marker out that u can that isnt how the industry works
