AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Not sure how you figure it'd get dinged up more. Given that the area that I'm talking about it 'under' the feed tube and has the body below it. But I don't think it matters as I don't see it being changed
I was thinking you meant make the bottom of the breech unit 4-sided (like half an octagon) rather than leaving it rounded, so it'd fit flush against the body rather than having a small space... Is that what you meant?
If so I just figured having those milled edges would help it pick up dings faster than a flush, curved surface.

As to cleaning it: Don't you take everything apart when you clean anyway? That and why would you be getting this dirty? Are you saying you leave yourself open for gun hits often.
I take everything apart when cleaning, that said, I'll often leave the breech on my Xmag and clean around it purely because nothing seems to get in there and it's a (usually pointless) pain in the butt to add that to my cleaning regimen. Mags don't chop, and I don't take gun hits
That said, with the new Micromag, I'll strip it down to o-rings and powertube spacers every time I clean it, that is if I'm in the mood
The valve cutout will be changed to hug the valve better .
I second the "Hug".
The valve looks out of place, almost like it was an after thought. The "Hug" will help bring the square and round geometry together better.... know what I mean vern?
I know we're talking apples and oranges in regards to design, but, how much heavier do you think the PTP body is compared to a standard ULE body and rail?
Fixed for you.
But a better question, I think, is how it compares to an X mag.
