it would only take me 22 hours to drive there...
          non-stop........
          uh.........................
better make that 30 hours so I don't end up doing any
          spontaneous customizing to my car.

It looks like I live 20 minutes away from the shop (I recentlhy moved to Sanford) ... does this mean I get to pick up the first one once they are done, maybe get a tour? I'd offer to help but I don't think I have any relevant usable skills, and I would think you have plenty of mag lowers and frames to fit the bodies on. I have a gloss black E-Micro coming.

After the gun bodies and parts are done , they get shipped to PTP Maine for assembly and shipping .

You will have to talk to Tracy about picking up in Sanford .

                Getting so close!

I was looking through the design concepts thread, and realized I kinda forgot how long its been. 3 years and 1 month to the day since I first posted that body.

kinda crazy isnt it, i still remember it well though how it all unfolded, nothing like a little elbow grease and some body designs were made and here we are final product finally coming out, its been a long haul but i feel it will be well worth it for us PTP on the other hand they may never say the word Automag or Micromag again but hey

thanks again guys for making it happen (PTP and interested parties alike)

Well, they were shipping from florida to maine or something supposedly late last week- So I guess they'll arrive sometime next week in maine where Tracy is supposed to assemble them and pull what remains of her hair out- From there they'll be shipped to us or anno so I'm going to make a guess sometime around the 17th we'll have our raw markers, longer for anno.

Im still having issues with the emicro front blocks but i think im over them .

Ive made 4 good blocks and 9 bad ones

Just when i think i have a good block , something will move and just when i get everything to stop moving , i started breaking taps again today .

                            almost there :/

I believe you have mentioned this before, why are the parts moving around? I can't imagine you guys using cheap vices with the high-end stuff you do, just curious what you came up with...

i started breaking taps again today .
                              7075 issues?

Are you using a forming tap or is 7075 to hard for those?

                                All,

Zoom was generous enough to let me tour the shop today and fondle.... Um I mean, handle some completed bodies *Lust*

I think the thing that struck me the most was the scale. These bodies are tiny feeling. All the pictures have been large pictures with the body taking up most of the frame. I had lost my sense of scale.

Most of the little details that drive people nuts (gaps n such), really, really, don't look nearly so bad/obvious in person. Even running the breach in warp mode looks far better in person than it did in pictures. I'm happy.

I can't wait for these to ship.

While I was there Zoom had some batches of bodies and parts running through the stones for de-burring. I got the impression that raw Mech bodies would be going to Tracey soon.

Also saw a few more E-Micro front blocks come off the machine while I was there. They seemed to be running ok.

Will post sketchy cell phone pictures later.

                                PS:

                                Hey Luke

I saw the box of spare bodies for you to play with. Looks like you should be able to get some good ideas in.
