paying the deposit will put you on the list. remember to include your forum name with the payment. also, the deposit is $100 no matter what options you choose so it shouldnt (not 100% sure) matter at this point.Originally posted by ThelarI tried to read through everything. Do I need to get on the list to preorder and then Paypal the deposit, or does Paypal'ing the deposit put me on the list? Do we need to specify the color and asa or gaget grip preference now, or will that come later?
Thanks, LarryComment

Like a Kid in the Candy Store with eyes the size of silver dollars...
I'm just getting home from my round trip travels today and all I can say it thanks Tracy and Forest for the tour of the shop and the conversation it was a real pleasure. You guys made me feel like we had know each other for years. All afternoon I was telling my co-workers, and who ever would listen about the visit.Originally posted by Forest_ptpWe have a short production run sitting in the warehouse now. Jeez, and that was probably the only thing we didn't show Looper while he was here today...
It was truly amazing to witness the passion that Forest and Tracy have for the sport. I really hope that this new body is just the start of more new paintball product emerging from PTP. Even in this tough economy the outpouring of enthusiasm from the members here is encouraging.
Oh and if I see any "Norwegian Birds Eyes" Sweaters Size L in the Employee Store I'll be sure to snag you one
Thanks,

Not sure if this was asked, but will the bodies come with a feedneck and detent installed or is that something purely aftermarket?
And the forgrip; the ASA has to remove if the body can bolt to E-mag lowers, so how does it attach? Is it by the 4 screws? Or is it a seperate mount?
And what is the "gadget grip" that was mentioned?
How will the sear mount? Will it take RT style roler-bearing sears and the axles or does it need classic sears and the pins?
And is there any possibility of requesting a number? Like, if I wanted body number 12 could I get it?
ThanksLast edited by Watcher; 01-23-2009, 03:17 AM.Comment

To me this would be the E Mag solution , build it similar to an X Mag in the front , then you have the E Mag length & the battery cover all worked out .Originally posted by Dend78it could be similar to one of these

of course one of Atach's
For the AA/MM length one , all that would have to be done is to remove the front section ,
of course I don't know how much work this would be .
What I do know is I spent a bunch of money on the PTP E Mag new old stock sale , hopeing that I would be able to use this body .
Personally I do like the looks of it & the rotating breech , But if it's not E Mag length i don't believe i'll be buying one , so I still have a bit of waiting to do before I make that decsionComment

Good question. Some of this wasn't really covered very well. Russell sent me some updated drawings literally in the middle of the night and as soon as sort through them I will be able to clarify the whole ASA issue that has everyone still wondering.Originally posted by WatcherNot sure if this was asked, but will the bodies come with a feedneck and detent installed or is that something purely aftermarket?

Feed neck and detent will be installed.
We've talked about the sear a bit - that will be RT Pro style. Gadget grip is TBA and we are working on the styling. Keep in mind you'll be able to use a gas-thru with the Vertical ASA installed.
Once you are on the list you can request special serial numbers, but keep in mind that we are taking requests in the same order as when your pre-order is received. Serial numbers will not necessary be consecutive since some people have requested numbers and/or letters that fall outside of the actual production quantities that we will be running.Comment

I dont mean to come across as arrogant, but please tell me what is micro about a micro mag.Originally posted by Forest_ptpWe really wanted to stay "Micro".
I own all kinds of mags. Xmags, Emags, Kartamags, Chordmags, pumpmags, minimags, and ~3-4 micromags.
If I place a freak back in the breech and put a 10" front on the freak All of the markers are the same length.
Please remember invert already makes a mini. I have one, and wont use it due to its small size. It is wonderful tho for my wife.
I would like to pick up a new body for an EP mag that I have, but am using a logic frame on it. It will not fit under a am/mm base.
A few other frames that will not work well are going to be
Ygrips
Zgrips
Logic UMF
Logic vert (not 100% sure on this, but would be willing to bet)
Emag lowers
New Chimeras (shawn is thinking of getting rid of the ugly dip in the trigger guard)
IMO it is too hard to find a foregrip/gas thru/ expansion chamber as it is in todays market. I dont want to have "make something fit" because the part I want will not fit.
I congratulate you for making these. I think it will help AGD in the long run, but I have to say without it being RT length I am really not interested.Comment

Let me talk to Russell about this. I have an ideas that might work pretty well. At least get a list started to see how many we are looking at.Originally posted by maniacmechanicTo me this would be the E Mag solution , build it similar to an X Mag in the front , then you have the E Mag length & the battery cover all worked out .

I'd like to see the vert asa come with two ports.
One for the macroline fitting and one on the other side for a pressure gauge .
I already have the gas thru I'll be using.
Question....is the body coming with the proprietary asa ?
I read Tracys first post and it still was clear as mud on that question.

Two ports on the ASA is no problem to build, but we are trying to standardize as much as possible. Even though the bodies will be limited in quantity, they are still a production run. There will be some extra ASAs and fore grips built just not sure of how many. We are really trying to accommodate as many people's personal requests as possible, but at some point soon it has to be put to bed.Originally posted by going_homeI'd like to see the vert asa come with two ports.

We hadn't figured out the ASA or grip when Tracy first posted. They will be available as an option and we'll get a cost figured out ASAP. Still trying to get an idea of how many people will want one or the other. The more we build the lower the cost of course. We'll be posting an updated ASA drawing today too.Comment

just a quick thought and question. If you did have a spacer, would you be able to use it to with emag lowers, would that cover the battery pack and would you then NOT need to cut/shave the sear???Comment

That kind of defeats the point of the SN then doesn't it? I mean, if only 214 are made and someone has SN 536 then were there 536 made or 214?Originally posted by Forest_ptpSerial numbers will not necessary be consecutive since some people have requested numbers and/or letters that fall outside of the actual production quantities that we will be running.
It should be requested within specs...
I'm awaiting those new pics of the forgrip.
Adding new questions:
If the body is going to require a spacer for the e-mag battery casing, and the vert ASA is an option and so is the "gadget grip", what is the possibility of getting all 3 and one body?
Right now I'd be running an Intelliframe and some kind of forgrip on it (hacking up my RTPro to use in the Micromag), but in the future I want to put E-mag lowers and an x-valve in it so if can't get ahold of the battery cover right away then I am never going to find it when I need it which would be a problem.
There are still so many questions to answer... I want one but I want to know all the facts ahead of time.Comment

here are some questions that will hopefully be solved...
1.)if you buy this body, does it come with a sear pin or do we have to shave one down our selves?
2.) if it requires a part to fit the emag lowers, is it going to be included or do we have to buy one seperately?
3.) if the body is going to be available in polish at an extra cost, what is the cost?
4.) if the body is made to fit like an xmag (using the front piece to cover the battery pack) wouldnt that make it not a micro when on a mech frame?
5.) if the body is left kind of blank for milling options, can we send it in to have it ano'd gloss black or dust black after we mill it, at no charge if we order one raw?
6.) is there going to be a new battery pack casing available? or just a battery pack top covering solution?
7.) if the body has a recessed detent, how are we going to be expected to remove and reinstall them tightly if not using a kila detent? (they have a hex head)
8.) is it going to be ULE'd underneath? if not... is it going to be possible to? and if it can, are we going to need dimensions and thickness to provide to the milling people?
9.) what are you going to do for the feedneck that would allow it to be used as a warp and vert? are we going to have to change feednecks in order to use it 1 vs the other? if so... wouldnt it be easier to make a feedneck that has a slipfit collar design that clamps down, so that it can be removed and reveal a "pipe" like feedneck for warp?
10.) are the feednecks going to be a clamping feedneck? or something else... and how high or low are they expected to be? Are they PTP brand or aftermarket?
if those 10 could be answered i think that almost everyones questions will be solved for the remainder of the waiting time till the prototypeComment
