Well i would hope that mustangs are fast in a straight line, as they suck at everything else.

the newer ones except for the gt500 are better, but still pretty horrible.

I would take a high revving rotary over an LS1 anyday.

I second that. I have a 914 2.0... and I think of it as the redheaded stepchild of porsche... a 928 is just... a black sheep.

I would love an older 356 or 911, 1968 mecedes 280sl, any original mini.

Id even rather have the 914 than a 928. They are really fun to drive. Kind of like a go-kart on steroids.

QFT. I hope this concludes the "Mustang" content of this thread.

IT depends what one is looking for really.

A true European style sports car.

              A ricer

Or an American muscle "sports" car.

How much of an oddity is one looking for? How mechanically inclined, because none of what I have suggested are for those who are going to be paying someone else shop labor rates to be working on, and all of what I suggested have "unique" maintenance issues.

Everything I put out there is meant to be a bit off of mainstream.

Lotus > Porsche for rear/mid engine Not for pure out power, not even necessarily for handling, but just because so few people even think of them

Thus why I love mine. My dad was the original owner, it has 82k miles and is on its third engine.

I would love an NA 13b, especially the renesis version, just throw away the horrid RX8 tranny that makes acceleration horrible. Seriously man, i would rather have higher RPMs so that i have more control over my car than power. It all depends on what the application is, i prefer tighter corners to straights, and so for that kind of driving a higher revving engine is VASTLY superior to a low revving powerful engine.

I meant one of the ones that came stock in the 2nd gen rx7.

Anyways, I remeber when the rx8 came out and the dealer got one in me and my dad test drove it. I only just turned 15 so I didnt have my license only my permit, almost got my first ticket for ~80 in a 30, cop spotting skills werent trained yet. The cop bought the we are just testing it out story.

Havent driven a car that corners better than it stock, espcially for its price group.

Man, the RX series is great, but my favorite is the FC, i would like a turbo one with an Renesis 12b, so i have the style and the power with no drawbacks that the turbo brings. That would be one of my dream cars, but it would be hard to actually do, but i think i'd have to change my pants each time after driving that car.

Indeed. More pratically a rx8 with a midsized turbo would do for a good balance, then you also have a backseat for the just in case you need to cram peeps in your car.

Even more sex. But yeah, apparently a turbo won't work with the Renesis design, i don't know if that's true but that's what i've heard.

But yeah, the FC is the sexiest RX7 ever, anyone who says different is a liar.

Oh yeah, someone mentioned a ford GT, so i'm assuming they mean the GT40, the best car ford never made.

Well the cobra is debatable for that spot....

A 69 Vette, but I doubt I could get one that cheap, so I'll go with an 88 Pontiac Fiero 6cyl Fastback
