      Yes he was, so in the movie he can't speak...

      I guess it fits with the logic of "lets make a movie about a thing and have it barely have anything to do with that thing other than sharing the names of some characters/items/organizations" which seems to be what the Wolverine movie was all about.

        Etc.

        So really, it was a mediocre movie that strayed so far from the plot it sought to replicate, that it was a whole other story altogether. It had almost nothing to do with the story of Wolverine's origins except for some names and events.
