I spent a week in Bubai last summer on business. The hotel I was staying at delivered a news paper to the door every morning. One particular morning's paper showed a happy, smiling group of 6 year olds marching in formation holding AK47's proudly. These were pictures of the summer graduates of the PLO terrorist school, something that all children in Palestien apparently participate in, right on the front page of the local news paper. Apparently they brain wash their kids from an early age and teach them all the appropriate skills to prepare them for the war against the Great Satan.

So what is it about freedom that makes everyone else want to blow up the US?

I disagree with the statement that this was not a statement. I believe they wanted to cripple us, yes, but just as much wanted to make a statement. They attacked the WTC, which is the pure image of capitalism and free trade. If they were to cripple the country, i believe they would have hit washington harder, but then again i believe that the 4th plane that was shot down was headed for the capitol building. This attack was as much a statement as it was a method of crippling the US economy and govt, although i believe that was a very major part too.

of course it was a statement, but it was much much more than a statement. that was my point.
