Interesting...I re-read this thread last night and thought about upping it. I did'nt know how AO would feel about reliving it.

I'm glad you did up it. I wasn't around this time last year. I was out at school in MO. I just finished reading it all over again. I remember what I was doing. I was in class when we first heard..

my heart and prayers go out to everyone that this has affected. The men and women in the forces, the ones fighting for the right to defend ourselves. Everyone. I'm about to be on my way to a 'candle lite service. For thoses who are across seas, and thoses who are about to be on the way, and thoses who have passed.

        God Bless

Took alot to read those first posts. a whole lot.

It's just uncanny. Reading those posts in order gives you a histerical timeline of what happened as it happened all becasue members posted as things happened.

I was in my Shop class during first hour. We had the radio on when they interrupted the music and announced it. I, like everyone else in the class thought 'cessna' or of the such when we heard the word 'plane'. We turned on the TV to see a plane hit a building. I am not sure if it was a reply or the second one.. it was happening too fast.

as the day progressed so did the news.

I had to leave during 4th hour to go to my Grandfather's funeral. He had died that weekend. In the car on the way home it was just unreal. I think I was listening to the MJ morning show, which had been extended, on Z-107.7 STL. I was homew for about an hour getting ready. Long enough to see the replays of the planes hitting and hte towers collapsing several times over.
The funeral was in Illinois. During hte 2 hours out there it was just more and more unreal.

we passed thru Belleville and Coulterville IL.. and I was stunned to see that there were cars lined up at gas stations. People are smarter than I thought, to try and anticipate that oil from such countries in the mid-east could possibly be cut off in the coming days. (of course that didn't really happen)

All and all it was just... unspeakable.

I just watched some replay footage of hte news casts during that morning, as they happened. I could remeber the video of the second plane flying in to a T. There was actually about five seconds where you could see the plane in hte distance swooping in. The people who were watching that live feed must have been screaming for those few seconds.

It makes me sick seeing it all again, But I have to watch it and I still cant believe that someone would even think about doing that!
How does someone think up such an horrific sceme???

We will hijack planes and crach them into buildings????

I think about that day now, and look at those poor people above that impact.....TOO horrific to contemplate!!

              SAD to the bone!

Reading through that reminds me of the confusion and anger of that day. Looking back it was hard for me to remember just how little we knew about what was going on...

                Scary stuff.

Once again I am reminded of the confusion and anger of that day. Listening to everything unfold, everyone glued to their tvs or radios, strangers talking at the grocery store, at the bank, sharing the latest information, learning whose child lives where...

It's funny, I'm still joining the military too.

Just taking me longer than I thought...

Good for you. Our armed forces need dedicated people like you

(you are joining OUR armed forces, right?)
Or better yet, why don't you kill yourself. No, really, die. Drop dead, don't leave a note, in fact burn your house while your little ego is stuck in a bench vice so that you'll also incenerate yourslef and everything you own with it. Because that's all you're worth. You're not even wirh thte time it'll take for the house to burn down, so just kill yourself. You're a waste of space. You are nothing, you always will be nothing. Don't leave a note, you're not worth the ink. - Tyger

I cant believe it was two years ago. I remember that morning so well. Isnt it wierd to think that your grandkids will be asking you about this for a school project one day?

Finished watching a special on 9/11

I watched a 2 hour special on the presidents experience on 9/11 and some of the days after. I was surprised that watching it still brought strong emotions from me now 2 years later. It reminded me that we are lucky and blessed to have the perfect president for this time in our history. Its interesting to see how so many people have waivered from their commitment to stop terrorism and now think it is a waste of time and money, only 2 short years later. Although, under alot of political fire, our president still is strong in his resolve to see it through, which speaks volumes about his character and how he holds to his promise to us and the world. Not only will I not forget that day but I will not allow politicians to try and convince me that the war is over and we are safe, when so many terror factions still remain.
                              GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
