About nuking, no one is going to get nuked. Think about it, if we nuke a country in the middle east, then all the countries around it suffer from radiation including allies we have in that area.

I highly doubt any use of nuclear weapons, not after what happened in WWII and espcially with the US envolvement in the UN. It would bring about too many enemies and it's an extremely un-safe meathod because of all the damage it does with radiation and pollution. Not saying that cruise missles aren't un-safe, but you know what I mean.Comment

Well, this is my 200th post, instead of flaunting about in the friendly corner, I'd rather make it a salute to all the people who perished. So, here's to you men and women who perished on that aweful day.Comment

In support
Some time ago, while on a trip to Washington DC, I visited Arlington Cemetery. I took a bunch of pictures and used them to create a website (at that time) while learning HTML. The site isn't too much too look at, but I have received many replies from people saying that the site gives hope for themselves and our veterans. If interested, check it out for yourself.
Read the guestbook and see what others have wrote about it The counter on it doesn't reflect the total number of hits it has had. I moved the site to a new server once, and that count is since the move...which was last May or so.
Basically, in a nutshell...it's support for our Armed forces. Just thought I'd share in this dark time...

I think that you nailed it on the head, doing nothing caused this.Originally posted by shartley
This is VERY true, however, at this point there is NO way around it. We cannot let this go unanswered. I have also heard some say that we should not attack others over this because it would only encourage more attacks. This is just ridiculous.

I learned last night that a longtime family friend and part time worker for my father was killed when the Towers collapsed.
Larry Veiling was a Fireman who owned a deli in my neighborhood for years and always called my mom, Mrs. Fred with his deep Brooklyn accent. He coached/sponsored my little league baseball team to two championships.
Larry worked as a part time cleaner for my dad when his second child was born and from what my dad says, he never bemoaned any task assigned.
From what I have heard, he was one of the first people on the scene and was trapped when the towers begane to crumble. My unlce, also a Firefighter identified the body.
My God, Larry will be a missed light in Gerritsen Beach...we love you.www.stupidace.com

Canadian Editorial from Summer of 1973
It is from what was a popular television and radio Canadian journalist of the time. Of course, it was not written in response to this recent attack in America, but was penned in 1973 after America withdrew from the Vietnam peninsula.Originally posted by Sgt Carnage

American Flag
As you drive into the town I live in, on the North side of the Highway in our County park is a 20' x 30' Flag towering over the landscape. 450 smaller Flags are placed along the park drive every Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Veteran's Day. They are up again today and will be for the next 30 days as requested by the President today.
Many people are laying flowers at the monument and have also mounted flags on the interstate overpasses.
I was pretty choked up when I drove passed. Many people are just pulled over the side of the road.....
Also today the people of England have played the Star Spangled Banner at the Changing of the Guard. I just thought that was cool.
(Just fyi, the main flag is flying at half mast now, this picture is from Memorial Day weekend)
