I can understand one person being sympathetic to another. It's kind of inherent to humanity.
However, the justice system is supposed to be above prejudice or bias. Sympathetic but resolute in the rule of law based in facts, not feelings.

To see an ex-Judge accused of harboring a member of a suspected terrorist gang, or a sitting judge aiding and abetting a fugitive to escape?
Does not inspire belief that neutral arbitration is somehow different than the Referee's opinion.

In my brief lifetime, I have seen the erosion of confidence in our government and the media from the Warren Commission to Watergate to Russian collusion and Hunter's laptop.
Perhaps I should say "my confidence" has been eroded, especially with recent examples of the plague spreading into the judicial system.

Somewhere I heard that National Security does not mean hiding dirty little political secrets. The most secure Nation does not hide behind obfuscation or lies, least of all to their own constituents.

I was raised Roman-Catholic. Indoctrinated into a belief system shared by millions (even printed on money). Then I grew up.

How about the Diddy trial or the Epstein tapes, Judges being arrested, the GiveSendGo scandal, a Democratic Party in chaos, stores closing and entire fast-food chains disappearing?
Or maybe the escalation over Kasmir, unexplained ports blowing up in Iran, increased tension between Isreal and pretty much everybody.
But who cares? It's not my circus; those aren't my monkeys. Right? Gotta love the monkeys and the clowns. They keep you distracted between acts, all with smoke and mirrors.

History does not record anywhere at any time a religion that has any rational basis. Religion is a crutch for people not strong enough to stand up to the unknown without help. Yet, like dandruff, most people do have a religion and spend time and money on it and seem to derive considerable pleasure from fiddling with it.

And I would be called a deist, not religious.

But an interesting choice of verse. To keep oneself "unspotted from the world" is rather vague and interpretations other than King James are accepted.
The Modern Language Bible and the Revised Standard Bible both phrase it as keep "unstained from the world".
The Living Bible says "- not soiled and dirtied by his contacts with the world".

On a thread that pretty consistently is soiled and dirtied, stained and spotted over what's going on in "the world". Irony, or sarcasm?

I'm surprised Schiff wasn't prosecuted over that impeachment statement He made over Trumps phone call. Reading into the Congressional Record a completely fictitious and knowingly false account of a phone call Trump had with Zelenski.
Schiff later said it was parody. However, if it was parody, what was it a parody of? The transcripts of that call had not yet been made available.
I feel Schiff's "parody" crossed the line into slander and once in the record, technically became libel. Yet there were no consequences then. Will there be now?
I'd like to think that someone with the moral turpitude of Adam Schiff would face the music at some point.
