Humans have been killing each other since the days of "Sticks & Stones". Now they use guns, bombs, rockets, nukes.
The technology improves, not the motivation to use it. That's always been there and will continue to be.
You can't stop gun violence without stopping the violence first, no matter how many guns are turned in.

Aside, this one got to me.
Something I never expected from such an inclusive, caring and oh-so democratic a Governor as Gavin Newsom.

How many live in California now? Did any of them have a say in this? Doesn't appear so. Yet Newsom is a man with Presidential aspirations on a Democrat platform.
I'm barely familiar with Kid-rock, but I have heard the name. Leads me to believe He's at least popular in some fashion.
Somehow Newsom's singular, personal opinion actually gives credence to refusing to allow a citizen to perform in the State.
If Newsome were President, would He do it Nationwide?

(sigh) It'll end up in court, again. Wasting time, opportunities and taxpayers' dollars.
Yeah arming the population is such a good idea. I swear you guys will literally do anything but rationally come to the conclusion that far more stricter gun control will solve the problem.

Why do humans use guns, bombs, and rockets? Because they are far more effective tools to kill things with. Why do so few people die from bombs or rockets? Because we control their supply.

Literally all you have to do is look at the data in which western countries enacted stricter fire arm laws and the fatalities go down.

You saying higher taxes is a bunch of noise that has nothing to do with anything. Some of those countries have far better public transit, health care, and in some aspects a far better quality of life.

No see the difference is I understand that bad people choose to use guns because they are a far superior tool to kill things with compared to knives, base ball bats, whatever. The US military doesn't send ground troops out to war with clubs and nunchucks.

And what has the republican party done to address anything in regards to mental instability? NOTHING. Trump and cohorts literally just de-funded medicaid programs.

Only in the rest of the world does fire arm have strange physical properties, the fire arms grow legs and start shooting people and that's why in all those countries that I listed that have far stricter gun laws don't have nearly the same levels of mass shootings. Or maybe, just maybe strict fire arm control directly correlates to far less gun deaths.

More people brings more problems. Did I dumb it down enough for you this time?

These shootings always seem to happen in "Gun Free Zones". Places where there is a high population of gun owners don't have shootings.

Really? More laws? Maybe enforce the laws already in place. Oh, sorry. The Police have been defunded.
"Why do so few people die from bombs or rockets?" Have you seen Gaza or Ukraine lately? Nice control on that supply there, Skippy.
Stricter firearm laws only mean the number of fatalities committed with firearms goes down, not necessarily the total number of fatalities.

It's always the focus on the guns. The tool being used by a reckless person. As a tool, a firearm has no more volition of its own than a hammer.
On 9/11/2001 ~ did anyone blame the airplanes? Knives used on subways, cars driven into crowds.

The problem is not the tool used. It's the ones using that tool. Violence is often a response to fear, anger, a perceived or actual threat.
Until we recognize the trigger to that response, we don't even know which problem to fix.

Do you understand how statistics work?

For example: A 2018 study found the U.S. gun death rate of 10.6 per 100,000 to be far higher than Canada's (2.1) or Australia's (1.0)

Do you want me to pick a place like Japan, China, or Taiwan? Places that have significantly more people per land mass besides China.

"Japan has among the lowest rates of gun deaths in the world, with figures typically remaining in the single digits annually, often less than 10 deaths per year. For context, in 2018, Japan recorded nine firearm deaths, while the United States recorded over 39,000. These extremely low numbers are attributed to Japan's strict gun control laws, which heavily regulate firearm ownership and make gun violence exceedingly rare. "

Enforce what laws with fire arms? The police have been defunded? Where?

Gaza? Ah Yes the place in which the people who voted for Donald Trump are complicit in helping to fund genocide.

There's a significant number of school shooters that have obtained their fire arms through legal means. Hell half of you balk at the idea of making ghost guns illegal.

Do you not realize how poor your argument is for 9/11? Literally we changed the way we travel on airplanes because of it.

It is amazing the amount of cognitive ignorance that is here in regards to fire arms (not that I'm surprised since paintballers usually are obsessed with fire arms). Literally all of the other western countries in the world have solved this problem and you guys act like "I wonder how we can figure out this mental health problem?". Canada, Germany, Norway, .... don't have people with mental health issues. I imagine if we implemented some minority report wacko world, you guys would be *****ing about not being able to freely think.

I'm getting old. I remember the days when folks didn't bust a hemorrhoid over such trivial things.
