I just watched the highlights of the kings game, they did pretty good against the coyotes, didn't see any bg mistakes. Their offense was pretty good too. (4-1 kings I think)

The rangers defensive zone play was good all night. The goal was scored against the weakest defensive pairing, though. Purinton isn't on the ice for his amazing defensive skills :)
But the fight was Barnaby protecting his team-mate. One of the Cane's was getting in one of the Rangers faces, and Brind'amour got involved too. If a fight broke out there, it'd be 2 vs 1. Barnaby is one of the Rangers enforcers (or something, hes a little small for the role, but fun to watch anyway :) ). He went to his teammates defense, dragged Brind'amour out, and they ended up fighting. I doubt Barnaby thought Brind'amour would go considering he doesn't fight, but since Rod seemed willing, Barnaby went at him.
He wasn't attacked because of the goal, the fight was standing up for a teammate.

Not sure if I'd go so far to lable Barnaby as an enforcer. He's no Scott Parker or Dingman or Domi, but he's a pretty scrappy guy! Fun to watch!Comment

Barnaby is an agitator/enforcer.
He doesn't win fights very often, but he DOES take the body a lot, and he will make you pay if you mess with the Rangers talent.
He's not afraid to fight guys much bigger than he is, or who have better fighting skills.
Even if you know you can win the fight, you know Barnaby is gonna come after you if you mess around with a Rangers player when he's on the ice. Thats the only reason I label him an enforcer, he WILL go after people who mess with the Rangers, whether he stands a chance at beating them or not.
Also, his fights are some of the most entertaining in the league. Even when he is losing, he'll take shots in the face with a smile. He'll keep talking trash and keep smiling even as he blocks punches with his nose. It's hilarious.Comment

Yeah Barnaby is a great team guy. One of those guys who you know will jump into they fray to help you out regardless.
Domi's great and I like him a lot. But ultimate, nah.
There are only a few real enforcers left. Parker, Dingman and Domi right now are the best I think. Chris Simon used to be just vicious. Man when an entire team gets nervous when you step on the ice. That's when you know you are a bad bad man.Comment

Ok. I'm from Michigan. I cheer for the Lions. (Leave me alone). I know about Michigan hockey. I've watched the Red Wings and listened to them on the radio with my family since I was about 4. That being said.....
Detroit is NOT HOCKEYTOWN. If you want to attribute any NHL franchise with the "Hockeytown" title it's got to be Montreal with it's hockey heritage and TWENTY-FOUR stanley cups.Comment

Since Scotty Bowman went to Detroit it's been called hockeytown.
But I have to agree that Montreal is the real hockeytown.

Yeah, I think they actually copyrighted it in 97 or so. I think most of the fault lies in this new emerging group of hockey "fans" who don't seem to know anything about the sport. I don't expect everyone to be an expert, but at least know a little and it'd be good to know the history of your team and basic rules.
