cradle of filth, pantera, slayer, and hatebreed are good, or used to be good at some point. hatebreed was much better be4 they went mainstreem. if you ever saw the video for i will be heard, i was at that show, but when he said this is for mtv, like half the people there moved back. ive seen pantera once, they were crazy good. btw, hatebreed is hardcore, not quite metal.

Never heard of iced earth..might check them out now though

only recently been getting into metal, friend and I introduced each other to our own favorite genre..he's in love with punk now and I'm a brand new metalhead

I am more into punk than metal, but I can never turn down Hatebreed or Slayer.

You should really check out Avenged Sevenfold, they are metal/hardcore/everything, I think you would probally like 'em.

Yeah dude I love Slayer and Cradle of Filth. I also listen to a lot of Cannibal Corpse and 6 Feet Under. And you can't talk about metal without mentioning Danzig, by far one of the best metal shows I've been to, that's until I get to see Slayer.

Can't believe noone's mentioned Metallica yet. Granted their newer stuff doesn't have that same thrash metal feel to it, but it's still Metallica afterall.

You mean Tin-foil-ica? Yeah, there old stuff was really good. I even liked everything up to and including Load just because Load had a certain atmosphere about it that was nice. But everything since sucks. Plus, they spend more time suing people than they do in the studio now.

Dope is a pretty amusing metal band. Their song "Die MF Die" makes me laugh anyway. Fear Factory is pretty good too. Anywho, Welcome to AO!!!

Born with metal in my head. I rate all other music against metal. I have a habbit of disliking stuff, cause it doesn't make me mad enough. I don't differntiate between "kinds" of metal. Hatebreed is metal before it's "hardcore" Grinding guitar chords get me pumped. I cant stand wanna-be metal. Most K rock stuff now-a-days sucks. Staind? What kind of crap is that? Thats not metal, its whiny. "ALL THE PRAYERS IN THE WORLD CAN'T BRING YOU BACK!" "IT'S YOUR LAST BREATH!" Thats metal!

Ahhhhh - I hate the fact that everyone likes Cradle of Filth now - where were you all in '97 when I had to pay $30 for imports and no one had ever heard of an .mp3 before?

How about oldschool Tiamat, Kronos - anyone like the Melvins???

My fav bands are KISS, IRON MAIDEN, CARNIVORE, MISFITS, SIX FEET UNDER, DIECIDE, SEPULTURA - jeez the list goes on i can think of them now.
