I agree with you MagdDog, I don't even know how Cradle of Filth has gotten so big. It's the same thing with Slayer, they were almost unknown a few years ago to people that didn't listen to anything that wasn't mainstream and now everybody listens to them. I think the reason that I got into them years ago is the fact that I love older punk like, the misfits, black flag, minor threat, ect. and they have that kinda style mixed in with the metal style. They have to be one of my favorite metal bands for sure.
any metal heads out there?

no one else likes cradle eh? you guys gotta check it out. the lead singer is quite literally screaming the whole time except for a few songs, but you get used to it. the instramental part though is unbelievable! their double kick bass drum is so tight! you cant beat some of the guitar solos either!
check out:
catuhl dawn (sp?)
hallowed be thy name (iron maiden cover)
the forest wispers my name
her ghost in the fog
born in a burial gown

I used to be a big fan of metal, not as much so now. I was really into Snot and Slaves on Dope, and Sepultura and Soulfly and such. I only listen to a little metal now like Unearth and Cradle of Filth. I am more into the emotional scene and the street punk scene. Funny how things match up
. I listen to the true emotional music like Poison the Well and Converge, gotta love that screaming, but i have to say nothing gets me more pumped then ska before a big meet or something. My good friends in boston have a band called Big D and The Kids Table. You guys should check them out, as for the metal heads, Kicked in The Head is a big punk/metal type band around the underground kids up here. And of course i love AFI, to bad their new music is so bad
. Oh, and the Misfits too, they are responsible for all that dark metal and such, gotta love them
.

Oh man, Cradle of Filth is bad (oops forgot i can't say that) man. Her Ghost in the Fog is one of the all time sickest songs i have ever head i love it. All their music is so brutal, i guess thats why i still listen to them, they are just soo good. Do you like In Flames or Nile? They have that same basic melodic death metal feel to em. In Flames has some of the sickest dualing guitar riffs i have ever heard, haha brings me back a couple years.

"Dusk and her Embrace" is Cradle of Filth's best album. I listen to that album while hitting the heavy bag and it works me up almost as much as Sepultura's "Chaos AD." Of course Cradle is more interesting to listen to though.
Does anyone listen to Machine Head or LOA? Life of Agony's "A River Run's Red" is a great NYHC album is anyone is interested in old school.

White Zombie's "La Sexorsitsa: The Devil's Music" was the first last and ONLY good music Rob Zombie ever made.
I never got into Pantera - don't know why, but I never really liked them. Odd since I love Sepultura and machine head...they both pull heavily from Slayer/Pantera.
