Suped up Civic Vs. Stock 67 Mustang

Ok me and my freind have been having a HUGE argument over who would win, he thinks imports are evil and domestic are the best so we nerrowed it down to just a mustang and a suped up civic, so who do you think would win, a stock 67 Mustang, or a suped up Honda Civic.

That is a very very stupid argument. Stock Mustangs are not all that fast to begin with, and a civic with NOS will leave it in the dust.

    NOS is for sissies though.

Of course the Honda would win...

I'd rather have the Mustang though. I have a 68 actually...

You spend as much on that mustang as you did on the Honda, and it would stomp the civic. Ive got a 66 mustang, and while it is not the fastest car stock, it certainly is quicker than an 88 mustang GT convertable with a 5 speed (my brothers car) Regardless, I would much rather have the mustang than a civic.

well, considering my opinion is biased b/c i own a 1997 honda prelude, i think the civic, even though i hate them, would win. depending on the civic type (ex,dx,si) it does have a turbo (better than a supercharger IMO) and NOS(which is the best bang for your buck but bad for the car) and some other engine work done. you also have to take into consideration the power to weight ratio. older cars were made of heavy metals, while newer cars are not. so with the turbo/nos and other work done the civic prolly pushes around 250-280 hp out of its 4cyl engine at a weight of 2500lbs. while the stang prolly puts out around the same at a much heavier weight. i know that some of the more "enthusiastic" honda owners have been able to push almost 350-370 hp out of a honda engine!! just my 2 cents.

Well, if the Civic is lowered with a custom wing, it will have to win!
If it has the single windshield wiper conversion, then the 'Stang doesn't stand a chance.

I like all genres of cars, I really do. I drive a riced Acura and I'm building an old T/A. Benchracing is cool. Paintball is better. Watching a rusted hunk of useless iron become a shiny firebreathing motor from the forges of God is even better.

"No replacement for displacement" I do believe this is a biblical reference, is it not?

I'm not saying who'll win this race till I see it. So when can I see it? Route 66 is right by CPX - racing and paintball! Might have to wait till the Spring though.

I'm babbling. I'll shut up now.

The Civic would win.... but the mustang would look way cooler (and probably last longer too).

There is no way you would ever get that street driven civic to hook up on a hard launch. Have you ever watched import drag racing . Those front drive cars are fast but they are using big drag slicks and pnumatically actuated wheelie bars. This is the only way to transfer front wheel driven power to the ground properly.

On street drive front wheel drive supped up cars everyone uses big diameter rims and low profile tires. This tire wheel combo is much more suited towards road racing (auto cross) type events.

Therefore in my opinion (even though I hate mustangs) The stock stang would win in the 1/8th or 1/4 drag leaving the civic spinning in a cloud of smoke.

Civic would win, that is if the engine doesn't blow under the pressure...Mustang engines don't blow up because their blocks are hella strong...Civic engines blow up if the block isn't reenforced with about 20 lbs of metal...Well, maybe 10 but all street legal cars these days need block reenforcement to run at that much pressure.

Mustangs suck, but I'd give it to the crustang, all things equal.

who cares???? maybe my stock CJ5 will leave them both in the dust!

just kiddin. But how do you compare the two??? thats almost a sacralage... A STOCK vintage mustang. A MUCSLE CAR agents a Honda Civic with 10,000 dollars worth of upgrades is not BY FAR a equal race. If you compare a Ford Mustang agents the same year model Chevy Corvett. that would make sense.
