My tats do not show normally. But a little bit of a wing can be seen peeking out of the T-shirt when my blouse is off. I already have permission and clearance to get another eagle on my left forearm, which will of course be in full view while in T-shirt. I earned my exemption due to 15 years of exemplary service (I've never been written up for any infraction, and always score at the top of all schools I attend), they know I'm not going to get anything inked that would embarass my unit, the Army, or my wife!

Oh, sorry. There are more harvestable trees today because of the logging industry's foresting practices, than ever in US history.

Sierra Club stats are never complete, they only use what sounds good. Of course there are more UNATURAL fires in roaded areas, there are more people there camping and such. UNATURAL fires are always fought hard, but made more difficult and expensive because of lack of access. Lighting strike fires are allowed to burn unless it threatens human welfare.

the purpose of non visible tattoes and other non-uniform accessories is the exact purpose of the uniform, for everyone to look the same! whether patriotic or not, if it makes you stand out, or be different in a major way(that is not natural, i.e. scar) it dosn't belong.

as far as this whole iraq thing goes, we are not the world's policeman. we have the gratest fighting force in the world and that puts some of the burden of intervening where neccissary. i wan't to attack iraq, but if the UN inspectors can't find anything, we can't touch saddam. just because we don't like him.

Yes we can.....and we just might. Dubya has said in speeches that he belives that Iraq is blatently BSing us. I would not be suprised if we sent in some men or whatnot to "investigate our suspisions".

In the last election, I was a bit anti-Gore. I figured that any man who invented the internet would be a better techy than a polititian

But really, I didn't like bush either. They both had problems, and I think Bush's whole "I'm gonna nuke 'em like my daddy did!" complex has gotten out of hand!

I have just broken one of my rules: Shutup untill you know a better way. :) I don't know what would happen if we don't police Iraq, either!

I s'pose we'll all see what happens when it happens.

the government has announced that we will possibly use nukes if the sitation over there calls for it. i do think iraq is bs'ing or else they wouldnt have sent us X-thousands of pages saying they dont have them, when they could have simply used one sentance.

I'm sure those pages were the forms used, not a written statement! It'd suck to have THAT dictated to you

iraq is hiding stuff. They assasinated an informant a couple years back. The very day they delivered the papers, their military went on alert. They constantly tell their people that the desert will fill with "satanists" blood. They deny everything, make up excuses, and flat out lie. Of course, we will never see the documents, nor did they admit any wrongdoing in it. Why would they? Thats what the inspectors are there for. And, looks like they are finding that all these "legit" manufactuing sites are not what they seem. They are also tracing back to the companies what was actually bought, and what they were used for. They had a plant capable of making depleted uranium for god's sake! They first deny it, we catch it on a hotspot, then they say it is for Medical Purposes. In the middle of nowhere? C'mon...these folks are going to great lengths to hide something.
                  And, tattoos are cool.

harvestable? whats your definition of harvestable? trees grown for pulp are not "harvestable." we also only have 2 percent of our virgin forests left in the country, and guess whose trying to cut them down?! its not harvestable timber thats important, its habitable timber. a forest that can be inhabited by the animals is more important in the long run than a forest that will be clear cut. it is also more valuable generating a lot more in tourist revenue and so on. also, how can there be more harvestable timber today when the majority of the east coast and west coast was covered in forests?

lemme tell you a story. when the pilgrims sailed to the new world something happened. 100 miles off shore, before the seagulls showed up, before anything, they were able to smell the forests. the forests were so thick back then you could literally smell them from hundreds of miles off. this experience was what inspired Winthrope to give his speach "a model of christian charity"

id say thats more "harvestable" timber then the scant virgin forest we have left, or the minor amount of old growth we have.

the sierra club presents a fair view of the environmental situation we face today. they present all sides of the story, but remember they are a magazine thats dedicated to protecting the environment, theyre not gonna go on about how the clear cutting of the national forests will help line the president's pocket.

HE DID?! I think not! The "Internet" was originally made for various government networks to communicate and share information with each other. I don't see him as the inventor but as one of the many advocates for the expansion of the Internet.

TH - In know your joking about it but it make me mad to keep hearing that he invented the Internet. I'm a pc tech by trade and have been on the "internet" before HTML first showed up. That was around early to mid 90's. I remember playing a role-playing game in ascii characters on Compuserve. Those who don't know what ascii is, it's those characters that you type on your keyboard.

pbz, thats called a mud, and thats how i started on the internet also. i remember back in those days, when not everyone had a webpage where they could post useless crap, cause there were no webpages!! i miss those days, when the internet was for people educated enough to use it, and you actually needed to know what you were doing. and no spam!! anyways, enough of me reminescing, gore may not have invented the net, but he played an integral part in the development, and if he wasnt there arapanet might never have been fully developed.

arab leaders have a history for lying right to our faces. take a look at al quieda after september 11. they TOLD us many times that bin laden was innocent, and they wanted us to prove it to them (just like iraq) and it (no supprise here) turned out that laden WAS responsible and there was even a VIDIO with laden confirming his involvement. bottom line, you have to prove them dead wrong in order for them to admit their faults.

Halb, I too also miss the good old days of computers. I started out on a Tandy 100SL. That was back in mid-late 80's. That thing had no HD and only had a 5.25" disk drive. Man I miss typing out commands! That's why I installed a Linux partition on my laptop. In fact I'm upgrading to RH Linux 8.0 right now. That's right, dual-boot XP/Linux!

Now getting back to the topic, or close to the topic. Does anybody know why people with health problems like asthma automatically disqualified? I have it but is not a real problem for me. It does flare up sometimes but I can deal with it without any medications.

i can field that, asthma means you cant run as fast, as far, or as well as someone, and in war your legs are your life. your also much more susceptible to colds, and any illness you get lasts longer and nastier in you. i have asthma, and its not bad i mean i never get an attack, but if i run really hard or play a game aggressively ill come out heaving and puffing like theres no tomorrow. i mean, ok one of those gold record running dudes was asthmatic but hes the exception not the rule. dont worry though, there will be plenty of other people to be machine gun fodder for you.

and back to computers, i didnt start out that young, i wasnt even born then, but i was raised on dos. oh man i still remember those commands, my favorite one of course is del tree

and hatter, its not a question of whether or not he has the weapons, he probably does, the question is does he pose a threat? while we leave him alone the answer is no. he wants to stay in power. there are other countries out there that HAVE the weapons and that pose a much, much larger threat. yet we seem to be ignoring them for some reason...
