Some of them were devastated and a lot of them were killed when we didn't finish it then. And a lot of them distrust us now partly for that.

Looks like they took it from a human shield and added "Go Home you US wankers."

They were telling the human shields to go home. the video showed them shaking hands with the Marines in the town center.

If we haven't heard much from him, I assure you it's not because he isn't talking. Rather, I would imagine that news from the Iraq war is drowning out even North Korea's rhetoric.

The UN met yesterday to discuss condemnation of North Korea for its withdrawal from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (it was blocked by China and Russia), and NK calls it a "prelude to war".

Japan launches two spy sattelites last week, and NK calls it a "hostile act". Yesterday they remind Japan that they should be "clearly mindful that it is also within striking range" of NK's weapons.

I mean - jeez! The craziness of this country goes on and on. They are officially free of the Non-Proliferation Treaty today. It just gets scarier and scarier...

If you're looking to read up on NK, I highly recommend looking to the Brits, who have put together a nice bit of background info:

Provides an overview of North Korea, including key dates and facts about this East Asian country.

Who was predicting that the U.S. would not destroy Saddams army? His army, after all, was weaker than the 1991 Iraq army. Disagreement over Iraq both inside and outside the U.S. had nothing to do if it was possible to defeat Iraq. It had to do with the stance of American foriegn policy. Should we be a preemptive force in the world.

Afghanistan revealed to the world how much military might we had versus the rest of the world. It is an idea that has not settled well with much of the rest of the world. They realized that we were not just the only world super power in name but in fact. Now I'm not saying that this is bad (I am a U.S. citizen after all) but I don't want our country to be "in your face" about it. We need to be subtle but have the muscle to back it up if we need it. So the argument becomes do we work with the international community or does the international community work with us? I for one favor the former.

Speaking of Afghanistan there is still alot of work to be done there. Here is an article:

BBC, News, BBC News, news online, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

I think we are going to give the 3.3 billion in aid as well.
