I've said this before and I'll say it again....

CB... You're one of those people that, even if the other person was personally involved, has real-time video, signed eye-witness affidavits, and a letter signed by The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost, it's not good enough because it's not what you believe.

Your one prayer at nite ought to be that no one finds out who you really are at a PB field. You just might get the Chris LaSoya treatment.

            Nope couldn't be more wrong.

I saw that on Fox News this afternoon and they said nothing to that effect. So given what Fox News is, I figured that what they said would be the absolute most it could have been, and was probably less then what they said. So to see this site say it is a terrorist training camp is rather baffling. I am sure Fox News would have mentioned that at least.

                North Korea

Looks like one of the side effects of the War in Iraq has been the backtracking by North Korea. They have backed down on their ultimatum of unilateral talks with the US. They have agreed to multilateral talks hosted by the Chinese. I guess that show of force intimidated them a bit!

I guess war never really solved anything...except facism, slavery, etc.....

Burn me if you want since i really dont post much in this thread anywho, but CollegeBoy here is actually right about something. Slavery has never been solved by war. Especially with the U.S. Civil War, Slavery wasn't the issue nor the cause of the war. States' Rights and Preserving the Union were. Lincoln only issued the Emancipation Proclimation to insue an uprising of the slave population in the South and it never said a thing about the slaves in the North. The so called "issue" of slavery came into effect as a way for Lincoln to get more support for the war and to boost the moral of the Army of the Potomac which was getting its butt kicked by Jackson's Iron Brigade and Lee's Army. And after the war, the African Americans were basically thrown back into slavery because most were forced to work as contract workers for their former masters in order to get a land grant from the government.

War may end slavery, but there is no solid solution for it. If there was a solid solution to slavery, why does it keep coming back?

Lets not even get started on that...

Lets not get into the states rights versus slavery argument (as to what was the central issue in the war). I have a definete opinion on it but this is not the thread to argue about it.

As far as Korea goes they have agreed to multilateral talks which is a good thing. It is also good to see our government proceed multilaterally with Korea which I am in favor of. I also wanted to proceed multilaterally with Iraq but that discussion is history....

An interesting discussion now is Iraqi democracy. How would you proceed with the delegates? I think that the first thing that Iraqis should draft is a bill of rights. Before a figuring out how elections are going to work it is important to protect the rights of individual (and make them feel that they will not be persecuted by tyranny of the majority). It will be interesting to watch.

It will also be interesting to see what they dig up in inspections. I know they captured that one 1985 terrorist and they are making a big deal about it but don't tell me that we went there to capture him! I heard an expert project (before the war) that we would not find anything really interesting until we had a chance to go through the paperwork and until some insiders in the regime came forward to trade information for favors. This will also be interesting to watch.
