Besides, Bama got caught doing these types of violations in recruiting several times in a short amount of years. I mean, once...maybe, but several violations over and over? Did they really think they weren't going to get caught again? BTW, not all schools do it.

Some schools actually recruit under the guidelines for legal recuiting. Bama didn't get picked on in as much as they just got caught trying to pull a fast one.
The reason Alabama got in trouble the first time is because one of the players hired a scout before the last game of his career at Bama. The coaches found out after the game, and didn't think it was a big deal. It turned out to be, and the school got put on probation.

This time, so "booster" (which I fall under the term for I buy tickets) gave a coach 25,000 dollars to push his player to go to Bama, and another "booster" related issue.

But that is alright we know who had the best team in the best conference the SEC last year.

Most of all schools violate the NCAA recruitment and other rules, just some get caught, some do not.

LOL! I love it when people express their ignorance about the game of college football by saying Ohio State got lucky. Wasn't Miami going to beat Ohio state by 40 odd points? How did that game go on to double overtime? Oh yeah, Ohio State handled the so called best offense in the nation. Ohio State was the best team in the country last year. Will they repeat? Odds say no. They will go at least 10-2, they will be in the hunt, and they will be in possition to make another run next year.

Ohio State, lucky? Yeah, lucky they didn't play your sorry hometeam and give them a Ken Dorsey momment to cry about.

Being a Texas fan i have a deep hatred for Oklahoma, but i have to give those guys props, they put toghether a dominating squad every year, id also like to hear you Ohio state fans come up with an excuse as to why the past couple years no matter who wins national champs Oklahoma always starts the next year #1 just like this year.

I was at that game. The game shouldnt have even gone into overtime. Wasnt Andrea Johnson supposed to rip it up in that game? Yes. how many yards did he get? 55 yards. He coudnt handle the defense. Chris Gamble didnt allow him to do anything!

How many time did Dorsey get sacked in that game? 4? How many times did he get sacked during the season? 8 times? Hmmm.........

                    ARGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Terps are killing me! Who scheduled that game with NIU?

It was aweful. On the plus side, the Terps had to play two teams, NIU and the Refs! Horrible blown calls in that game. Many 15 yard ghost calls. The Terps reciever was tackled in the endzone in overtime. The ref was reaching for his flag, couldn't seem to find it and then just called the game. Horrid! The refs really should be nuetral and not from the home team's conference!

If this was directed at me, then I'd like to say I've probably forgotten more about college football than you'll ever know. Ohio State didn't get lucky? Oh really? They throughly handled Miami and knocked them around the field in the title game. There at the end, when they put the game into overtime they did catch some breaks, but that's life. However, it never should have gotten that far in the first place. Illinois should have beat the Bucks (and Illinois sucks these days after Kurt Kittner) but their receiver didn't make the catch in the end zone. Luck. Purdue almost beat Ohio State also, and it took a fourth and long play where they somehow managed to score (more lack of good defense on Purdue's side than skill on Ohio State's part) to even pull that game out. Where's Purdue been lately? Nowhere. The very fact Ohio State went undefeated is based on a lot of luck in and of itself. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they didn't have a great team...they did and still do, but they received some pretty good luck along the way.

Look at how many teams were undefeated through nine to ten weeks of the season...there was like four or five crowded at the top of the polls and then they started to fall one by one, most on that same weekend, but a few managed to squeek it out. Hell, Miami should have lost to Pittsburgh or Rutgers with the way they played against them for three quarters each. Anyway, Ohio State are the champs and that's undisputable, but they got dealt a pretty fair hand by fate for one year. The football Gods have already took notice and decided to bring them back to reality with this Maurice Clarett thing. Oh, and if you think OSU's getting through six weeks (or will it be three?) of their schedule with no Clarett and no losses, I have some oceanfront property right here in Missouri for ya.

If you think Clarett was their intire team, then you are just a funny guy , Ross and Hall are more then capable of getting the job done

woohoo my favorite time of year. ROLL TIDE. OSU wasnt necessary lucky last year, they just lived on the edge but they did get lucky in the champ game, the interferance call was bull. but i hate miami so its all good. Ill be at the wi-osu game this year sitting in the wi student section and chearing for ohio state. oh well ive been in worse (auburn). ill be down in bama for the lsu game. anyway i cant wait. i dont think well beat oklahoma this year. we got so fricking close last year (i was there). i dont think ohio state will do too well this year. they will probeply be 9-3 i think the big ten is weak this year (and every year for that matter). anyway college gameday is the greatest thing ever

I didn't say Clarett was their entire team, but if you think OSU would go undefeated and win the title again without him your probably the funny one! No offense, but I doubt they get past some of the teams on their schedule without him. I'm sure Ross and Hall are good running backs or they wouldn't be on scholarship at OSU, but without Clarett I don't see an OSU repeat. Well, I don't see an OSU repeat anyway...but without Mo it's not even a thought. The Sooners probably take the title this year IMHO.

so tell me ntn4502, Is ignorance bliss? obviously preseason rankings dont carry much weight but they're not unfounded. I think Oklahoma was the best team last year and the best team this year. Look at their conference u wanna know why they've barely missed the national championship past couple years... cause they play in the hardest conference in the NCAA, and thats all there is to it.
